Obinna Onyema Poem
Sitting at the fringe of the beach,
I conceived myself standing on the edge of a cliff,
observing the beauty of nature above the seas.
I was so overwhelmed by it that I fell off the cliff.
The river below looked so thin...so slim...so death-filled,
But I fell...I fell...and I fell into it,
It was as deep as the sea,
I fell into it,
It was like honey melting into lemon tea,
I fell into it,
It made me feel new,
I fell into it,
I fell in love with you.

Obinna Onyema Poem
A thought fell on me,
and calmly my heart sought to see,
to comprehend, in solitude,
its size and width and magnitude.
There's one who seems to me a gem,
whose influence no man can stem,
with eyes expressing great radiance;
a face engulfed with great brilliance;
I see a heart that calms my heart,
a face that tears my soul apart,
I see eyes that set me on fire,
and melt my heart with desire,
for true, unbounded genuine care,
not pain that I can hardly bear;
for such that fills my heart with joy,
what thought! With this I cannot toy.
