I-Hate-School

Neat orderly lines of chairs
Rattling biro pens on sweaty palms.
An echoing hall of icy airs,
exhaling teens failing to stay calm.
A bald figure glares over nervous being through supervising glass,
you will find me right in the middle of a scanty class.
A graveyard of buried dreams.
.
I was made to find ''x'' and i don't understand ''y''
why, ''A B, A B'' was the only rhyme scheme on my answer sheet..
Why, i had to quote and live by the words of another man,
so i could secure an A, B or C on that last day.
Alphabet i might never use in life.
.
Hmmmm...
What if, I get an ''A'' in farming and ''F'' in mathematics??
Does it mean am brainless?
What if,
I can't spell the word ''vehicle'' but can actually fix it?
Does it make me any less better than you?
I can't stand these tests
designed to determine the worth of our mind.

Motherafrica

The efik/ibibio people might call her ADIAHA
THE IGBO'S calls her Ada
A true born African
her hips seals lips
for a thousand words are wrapped around her waist... And
Her chest carries a mountain
A canaan of its own
Flowing with MILK AND HONEY
even Israel can't compete
for her mind has won more battles than JOSHUA ever did with a sword..
Her dark skin tell the tales of her originality..
She is the African salad.. Every man wish to taste..
The young ones look up to her while their mother's reminisce
She feed lord lugard and Nnamdi Azikiwe even before they knew how to spell their names..
She was there when Ojukwu declared war on her sons and her daughters were made barren..
She is the mother of poets and the inventor of poetry...
Stories were like poems in her mouth even before Hollywood could master the art...
Her tongue had painted more pictures in the heart of her children
so Her HISTORY they never forget

Loneliness

I walk lonely as a cloud
that sleeps on vales and rest on hills
when thought become loud and loneliness kills.
where is thy love?
Why is thy heart with emptiness filled?
Wishing through the cold night
broken & shelter, with nothing to heal.
Where is thy love?
Where is the innocuous soul of thee?
A poet turned from gay
thrown into turmoil and colossal self destruction
but kept moving, for anyway is a way..
He found the Angels singing songs of doom.
hell was nothing compare to his dark little room...

Silent-Night

ghost now walks in the land
where the living died
the silent cry of innocent souls
hunt the night.
No more drums of war
for the drummers were killed too.
The night reek of blood
the smell of dead bodies
made love with the atmosphere.
Who will mourn the dead?
Who will sing the moonlight song?
For the night is quiet and calm.

Me

Am I that little, shy and fragile boy hiding behind a thousand words
while my self worth lay rusting in self doubt
I made friends with my demons...
my invisible roommate
Am I that suckler that was nursed and raised by poetry
with no shelter for the cold night nor bed to sleep
I fed on words and words fed on me
talk to papers and fight with a pen..
i am the sad lyrics to a broken song..
see.. my bank account is empty but my brain is filled
my words are much but my lips are sealed
my hands are willing but my fingers are weak...
the society don't give a shit..
so the next time u want to know me.. just take your time to read my piece..
I am everything and I am nothing.. I am Nobody without a pen

Why

This uncle was so un-cool to his little niece
every night comes with an endless movement of push- up's on her delicate skin
Her legs torn apart in his own apartment
As he advance to take advantage of her little age..
Ssshhhhhh! BE SILENT
Uncle didn't stop until he broke her HYMEN..
ARE YOU A KID?
WHAT DO I GET FOR PAYING YOUR SCHOOL FEES?
This questions and many more was his key to the vault between her legs..
It just there month pass and her stomach is already raising to the challenge
Her womb bore the evident of his Crime..
Don't panic... He said..
I know a doctor that can take lives
just an injection and a few pills
you be alright..
Buh sadly this were the last pills she ever took...
UNCLE HAS DESTROYED TWO INNOCENT LIVES

Afriend

A friend is like a PARACHUTE
That lands you on a safe ground
slowly it guides you through the wind of life and soar high the sky with you... Its patient and gentle ... Even when u fall it stay with you

A friend is the melody of a joyful song and the lyrics to a sad poem..
Silently it whispers hope to your ears.. And console your broken soul with words form the heart core

A friend is the air that tells you to breath and never ask for a dime or the water that quench your thirst and still wash your dirt...

What type of FRIEND are you???
