Rock and Roll

Rock and Roll

Feed me things
That keep me awake
I feel alive
What a perfect date
False friends
Within my circle
False visions
I can't escape
Line after line
Star amongst the sky
Strung out, supernova
Reaching for that first glorious high
Tears welling up
Filling my guitar moon
No more strings to pick
No music to brew
I was born to rock, but now I think it's time to roll

Innocence

Innocence

Sweeter than the sunset
Out here tasting colors, hearing sounds unheard of by others
Basking in the light, oh my, my oh my, what splendid wonders
Marshmallow clouds embedded within marmalade skies
Building castles with my mind
Strung out, as the stars amongst night's darkness
Line after line
Erasing all, and any sense of time
Bittersweet, sour fruit candy ties, this world is mine
Lemon eyes, wild and free; child-like energy
Run away, run away
Bare feet, ballerina ways
Tip toe stance for days
Grounding myself with trees
In fields of lush lavender and pretty daisies
My knees are skinned
Hair's a mess, that I can confess
I am lazy, some call me crazy
Thoughts run rampant

Warrior

Warrior

Ain't no rock bottom where I'm from
I've yet to sell my soul
For what I'm worth
Only the Heavens above me know
Kicked rocks and ate dirt, no socks nor pretty shoes
Embellished my calloused feet
Never had no silver spoon in my mouth
No pot to piss in
Yet look at me now
I've been high, and I've stooped low
Sticks and stones may break my bones, but
Strong hurricane force winds amongst the sea
I welcome in
These waves I surf
Back away now
I've found my turf
When I come around
Rain turns to sleet
I don't give up
For I'm that warrior
You could not put to sleep

Toxic Loving

Toxic Loving

Defense wounds cut across my hands
Bruises of your finger prints line my neck
Words of disgust inprinted in my brain
Empty trailer in the middle of nowhere on an obscure
rainy day
You thought you had me, but ya lost me
We were a trainwreck upon the empty tracks
next to the place you had your way
Tell me this one thing
Are you happy?
Toxic loving is what they called it
That day you took my angel wings away
Heaven turnt upside down
Yet, I still loved ya
Pain still remained
Yet, I smoked it all away
Do you still hate me?
Can you feel my pain?
I forgive you
No more tears on my pillow
They've been all washed away
The echo of thunder still remains
No more weeping willow
Rainbows always shine
After the storms and rain

I Am Man

I am Man

I am man
Look at me
I spew out words, and do great deeds
I am royal
I am king
Respect me
Kiss my ring

I am man
I am the anotomy of war
I seek no less
I ask for more

See my big ole' gun?
I feel so alive when on the run
I'm talking to you
Do you hear me Son?

I admire women
I respect none
I stand tall
I am above
I make it known

I am man
I am king
Respect me
Kiss my ring

I am man
Since day one
I've taken land
Put laws into place
I wrote the scriptures
I am religion

I have sailed sea to shining sea
In a man-made vessel
I've had many slaves
To do the work I've thought unfit

I am royal
Purple robe, and wand in hand
I am science
Man-made magic
I seek a higher knowledge
To the existence of my being

I know all
I own all
The moon, stars, and my planet
The pyramids I built
My eyes are all seeing

I am man
I am royal
I am king
Kiss my ring
