Infertility

Infertility

Crayons on the wall, muddy feet on the floor; things that I would surely adore.
Hugs when you cried, tears that I’d wipe, loving how much that we are alike.
My beautiful princess or perhaps my young man; only my dream can understand.
I dream and I dream, but my wishes never come true; you don’t know me and I don’t know you.
Through my dream I can clearly see, how much you mean to Daddy and me.
You have his eyes and his warm touch, the things that Mommy loves so much.
You have my temper and my pride, the things your daddy seems to like.
You love to play ball and cuddle with dad, and hide from mommy when she is mad.
You don’t like bad dreams and neither do I, you sleep between us just to hide.
We hold you close and keep you tight; the boogeyman is off tonight.
Off you go to play and run, being a kid is always fun!
If only my dreams could really see, what amazing parents we could be!
I dread waking up to see what is true, no baby for us, no parents for you.

Middle Child

Middle Child

Born in the middle it was plain to see,
she was the best and he was the king.
I was great too, but no one could see,
cause she was the oldest and he was the king.
I was there too, but you would not know,
she was the greatest and he stole the show.
She was so pretty and he was so smart,
how would I ever know my part?
No part for me as I could see;
She was the best and he was the king.
They grew up and I did too;
still in the middle and between the two.
In the middle, I found my part,
loving my siblings with all my heart.
She is the best and he is the king,
I am just happy being me!
