Needle Me In

Once again, needle me in.
I enjoy releasing poison,
Through your scarred skin.

A prick to poke daily, yes I win!
I take any respect, and self confidence.

You blame me for problems, you've had since back then.
As If you can't believe, state took away your kids.

Look closer into the mirror.
And see the person.

Who you lost long ago
Keep on running.

Your just about to do
Exactly what I said.
Hold your arm out
Full of dope, needle me in.

Ashamed now are we?
From all the bruising.
The feel of being high
Is temporary.

When you see tomorrow's light
In the morning.
Your still you.
Do something positive about it.

Don't be afraid.
Change is a blessing.
To save a soul from hell.
And all his demons.

Count your lucky stars.
For all of your scars.
Every one tells a story.
That made you who you are.
Being a drug addict.
You've come this far.

This new beginning with Him,
give all glory to God.
For He will never leave you.
 Alone in the dark.

He shines light to the path.
Where you have always belonged.

A place with happiness
People with loving hearts.
You have family who do care
Be sure to Thank them all.

Needle me in to
The past back so far
Never to be brought back.
Now over and beyond.

My Sunshine

You are my sunshine
my only sunshine.
She would sing every morning, as she would clean.
You make me happy
 when skies are grey.
Her voice was like an angel.
She sung so beautifully.
You will never know dear, how much we love you.

It's ok maw maw, you can let go now,
I understand.
You don't have to stay and suffer anymore.
Close your eyes, I'll hold your hand.

She then took her last breath, I knew she couldn't stay.
God why did cancer, have to take my sunshine away.?

Just Add Sugar

When life gives you lemons,
squeeze out every drop.
Have you a drink,
because thats all you've got.
The taste maybe bitter
But in time, that will change.
Just add a little sugar
Sweetness goes a long way

A Man's Special Horse

Back before I was born,
It was my dad
just him and his horse.

Every Sunday morning,
He would sing
Amazing grace
Under an oak tree.

His horse would stand near by
And stare back into his eyes.
Mom said it was very touching to witness
The bond they shared
you wouldn't want to miss it

On a cool, beautiful evening.
He saddled up, off to leave.
Went far beyond the sky you could see.
In the dangerous place you shouldn't be.
All of a sudden a noise interuppted.
They were attacked by a bear.
 Almost killed my dad.
All he remembered seeing,
was his horse in between them.
She somehow scared the bear away
She was hurt too, so dad began to pray.

He Asked God not to take her away from here.
She saved my life, I know you are aware.
I'll stop drinking,I promise you lord
I'll do anything just please
don't take my horse.

Amazing grace how sweet the sound.
Hold on to my voice, I'll get us both out.
I once was lost but now I'm found.
Soon enough help arrived
 they made it somehow.
To save a wretch like me.
I'm nobody just a dirty cowboy.
My horse on the other hand,
Is special to me and
 if she wasnt brave
I would be dead in a grave.

She's my hero, my best friend
I will take care of her till the end.
Thankyou lord in jesus name
You let my horse Amazing Grace stay.
Amen

Dreams

Dreaming is our souls voice from within.
Connecting our brain and hearts true feelings.
Dreams are the voice, that needs to be heard.
Not like just any, but a black n white picture.
The details may seem blurry to ones eye.
But another sees color, in a different light.
The picture is printed out there before you.
It's your decision, on what dreams you make come true.

Gods Shadow

Strike one!
The umpire yelled
 at the other team.
I could see my dad smiling,
proudly back at me.
He was a very, hardworking man.
But he never missed a game
Man I miss my dad.

I remember him hunting
Just him and his dog.
Would come back with a truck bed.
full of squirrels he never shot.
I can't explain it either.
to this day I don't know.
Dad was very special
Like gods shadow.

One evening we waited,
on dad to go to town.
This was a treat.
anytime we spent with him.

As he walked right on by,
towards the old truck he drove.
He said I'm sorry son.
I have a bad feeling.
You need to stay home.

He drove off that day
down the old dirt road.
Still crying when we saw
A sherif we already known.
I'm sorry. he began
to say these words to me.
Your dad has been in a wreck.
He hot a pothole
 the truck destroyed completely.
Your dad didn't make it
Again im very sorry.
He said he loves you all
Need anything please just call.

I never picked up a baseball
It just hurt too much to play
Without dad cheering on
I just watch my son play games.
 he's never far away
from us at his home.
Because God lives in our house
And dad is his shadow.

Cowboy Boots

Paw paws shed was packed very full.
Of different things but mainly tools.
I helped him out to find some nails.
Looking in boxes up high on shelves.
I looked over my shoulder and there sat a stool.
Underneath was a box of old cowboy boots.
Pawpaw sat close and cleared his throat.
He said a man's boots will tell you about his roots, will tell you what type of man, if he's even worth a damn.
A pair of these here should have many tares, from hunting and fishing, bass and deer.
The soles may be torn falling apart. This is From a man who travels very far.

If there's a hole on his knee, where his jeans should be. this is the type of man you want to marry. He's a Christian man, who kneels down to pray to God faithfully.

Hell In Winter

No one really knows who she really is.
Because not one soul takes time to listen.

She says shes a burden, not close to feeling human.

Her kindness is just her failure, can't you even see?
She will never know happiness, to be set free.

She doesn't fit in, not even in her own home.
All she begs now, is to be left alone.
Dope makes her life easier to cope.

But once the poison is gone, her problems still left unresolved.

She's honestly believing,
Her mind is also leaving.
Her memory fades away, more and more each day.

Some one pick her up and
Show her true love.
Her view of life in general, is her hell in the Winter.

In her cold frozen world, where no one moves with her.
She's shattering like glass, slipping thru the cracks.
They stay still and watch her suffer.
As she melts thru the iceburg.
Ice sharp as nails ,makes her bleed and loudly yell.
No movement not a sound, as she takes her snowfall crown.

You have lived in mysery, your now the frosted queen.
Why care what the people think?
Because their reaction, is a reflection of me.

Vacation In Paradise

When I travel on, to what's next.
After laying my body, down to finally rest.
Don't be sad. For I am not forever gone.
I'm just on vacation, not accepting phone calls.
When it's your turn, to enter paradise.
I'll be there to greet you, with arms held opened wide.

My Best Friend

The woman at church who sat behind me.
Claimed she seen angels all around flying.
She would always say to me,
After our first song.
She's right beside you..she's beautiful.
I would smile back at her.
Not knowing what to say.
Until she approached me, after we prayed.
As she walked towards me holding out her hand.
Said this is a gift your Angel has sent.
As I looked at the matching bracelet on my wrist.
I knew it was mama
My angel. Heaven sent.
The woman gestured for me to turn around.
It was then a
I seen a woman with a glow standing proud.
My mother was healthy she was in no more pain.
My sad days are over.
She's in the best place.

She still comes to visit me at my home
Leaving her bracelet out so I would know.
I shake my head with a big grin.
Mama you always know when I need my best friend.
