The Confident Woman

I refuse to sabotage my future,
I refuse to have self-doubt
I refuse to believe that I'm useless
From the depths of darkness, God brought me out.
You see, God is the source of where my strength lies
and small beginnings, I shall not despise.
I stand with boldness, knowing my God is real
The Confident Woman has now been revealed
Failures and uncertainty tried to hinder my path
By reminding my thoughts of my frozen laughs
But today is the day that I stand here and say
This Confident Woman is well on her way

Paving the Way

Positioning yourself to travel the path
of a vision that's larger than you,
Overwhelmed with the task,
yet prepared to accept the challenges
of something new.
Appreciating your persistence and dedication
but most of all your will,
Willing to step out on faith
believing that dreams become real.
Encouraging others to make that stand,
by refusing the thought to fail.
Allowing confidence to hide in your heart.
You now have a story to tell.

Refusing Self-Doubt

As you go forth in your endeavors
Remember to keep a foundation
As obstacles come before you
It will guide you in situations.
Refusing self-doubt,
By entertaining the challenges within,
Pursuing the desires of the heart
As motivation becomes your friend.
Have confidence in who you are
Where ever your Journey leads,
Know, you must keep on pressing
By continuously planting your seed.
Advancing to your potential
As each year improves itself.
Achievement is an honor,
Visualizing how great it felt.

By the Grace of God.. Today I'M a Poet

I was once captivated by the seduction of darkness. Not realizing it would destroy
all the I was. My life crumbled at the seams, every area of my life was affected by
this insanity that I had allowed myself to participate in. Happiness has been
removed, laughter had disappeared, comfort into paranoia and my future didn't
exist. Feelings became numb and evil became my friend. Darkness was the
company I
kept pursuing it day and night believing this was the best that I could do because
I couldn't see myself personally becoming anything else. So I accept the fact that
I was never getting out of this situation unless it was interrupted by death.
Depression came to visit me, then anger joined. They assumed I needed to
indulge in
deeper thought, action wanted to participate too! She took control and took me on
a
journey to become an inmate off and on for five years. In the midst of that journey
my body was breaking down, my mind was weary and I was willing to pursue
new
friends. So I searched my inner thoughts and heard about hope. I was willing to
be
still and allow goodness, grace and mercy to capture me. Darkness disapproved
so I
introduced her to light, watching her fade slowly until she eventually disappeared.
Once captured I was introduced to happiness, laughter, comfort, hope and
freedom.
God was in the midst of it all in my heart I know it. By the grace of God... Today
I'm a poet.

911-Poem

Pulling together as one, as we face a dark hour,
Reconstructing our focus on D.C. and the Twin Towers.
People have lost their lives, for reasons unknown to man,
Disaster has struck our Nation,
Though we must continue to stand.
The President is our Leader,
Yet God is the Leader of us all.
Let's pray he seeks God's guidance
To prevent America from a fall.
Evil is in our midst, It has no intention of settling down,
We as a Nation will not welcome, nor embrace it's frown.
For many lives were spared-blessed are they
All would be destroyed, If evil had it's way.
The angry violent fires are the result of wicked deeds,
God is calling his people to get back on their knees.

Your Prayer Has Been Granted

We cry another day for the hurt that couldn't escape.
Embedded in the heart as their mind were being raped.
Enduring the moments of hell while capturing a thought,
My life will be destroyed, My dreams would be lost.
I must speak a word, So let me speak through you
The voice the survived the tragedy I went through
Believe you have a future, for hope found your path
Refuse to silence your scream as healing develops your laugh
Captured in unfamiliar Arms (Love)
A price that was paid. So lift up your voices ladies
You cant' afford to be afraid.
Remember I speak through you.
You're the seed that's been planted
Your presence is a miracle
Yes, your prayer has been Granted. (Life)

Silence Has Heard Your Cry

Silence has heard your cry
Emptying the heartache and pain
For you have captured our hearts
From the depths it will remain.
As you searched to comfort your soul
In the midst confusion appeared.
Transforming your inner most thoughts
Allowing anger to visit your fears.
For God knew your heart
As he visit that occupied space.
He saw your loving desires and
wanted to take it's place.
Your willingness drew him near
Giving us an opportunity to see your smile.
Thank you for your presence
Now God may take home his child.

Something My Past Didn'T See

Looking into the future, something my past didn't see
The outcome of my experience has allowed God to transform me.
Longing to be alive for within I was dead
Darkness was my company and each day I dread.

Walking with a lost soul understanding nothing at hand
I once had a goal, my dreams turned to sand.
Seeking the face of comfort to captivate my distressed mind
Can't give up on life Hope, I must find.

Thank God I found hope in the midst of the dark
Pursuing to find some light until it penetrates in my heart
Now that I'm blessed with life and has allowed God to transform me
I'm excited about the future, Something my past didn't see.
