Country Boy Come This Way

I'm a city girl,
looking for a cow boy.

He'd teach me how to twirl
to the folk dance near the bay.
I'll listen to him yodel
and watch him feed cute horses hay.

There won't be a note he can't handle
cause he sings and plays the guitar everyday.
He'd take me around the world
with his big old truck while he screams, "Make way!"

I'll want my life to be simple:
raise children, make sure the crops are okay, etc.
On the porch swing, we'll cuddle.
Moon lights and shooting stars flash away.

...here's a bucket for you to hurl,
but I'll marry a country boy one day!

Times of Grieving

I kneel before her.
Met her when I turned age six.
May her poor soul rest.

My Person

Everyone has a person.
...a person to confide
when they get rejected,
when they can't decide, and
when they heard news.

For better, for worse.
I hope you know.
You are my person.
You help me out
in every possible situation.

You lend an ear.
You wipe my tears.
You hold me tight.
You erase bad sights.
You heal my scars.
Facts I can't ignore,
bringing joy, support, love.

You are the reason
why I'm up above.

Oh, come here and
give some tough love.
You are my bro, and
will always be forever.
You are my person.
I hope you know.

Sugar Dumpling

Skippity skipity dah de doo!
She leaves a trail of caramel
from her spongy, cakey shoes.

At night, she sprinkles sugar powder
on children's tongues while they sleep.
She goes by the name of Sugar Dumpling.
The fairy takes care of those who weep,
especially from a frightful nightmare.

Unlike other magical creatures,
she allows herself to be seen.
Only, she erases their memories later.
Sugar Dumpling cheers up children
with her rare stunning powers.

She's able to shoot pop rocks in mid air,
a burst of colors spewing everywhere!
Pillows turn into soft, sweet marshmallows!
Lamps become giant, yummy lollipops!
Water fountains transform into chocolate rivers!

Oh wonders of a sugar-coated cheery genius,
allowing children to dream with sweetness.
Little ones smile, flooded with joy!
Candy, cupcakes, cans of pudding
slide down their throats, filling stomachs!

so know that Sugar Dumpling is
coming if you hear:
Skippity skipity dah de doo!

Sad Angel

Sad Angel

Room filled with a haloey white,
an angel lays on the ground wounded.
Blood on broken wings...tried couldn’t.
She wished to jump and fly.
Instead, she was left alone to die.
All her life, she occupied making things right
for the people who dwell in the village
to illuminate their lives, to shine the light.
She threw cupid arrows to create marriage.
She whispered good morals on right shoulders
to lift the sin and bad thoughts big as boulders.
She brought happiness to others, but where
in the heavenly celestial space is her’s?

Eleven Beats of the Broken Heart

Why wake up when we hate the reality? 11
Why bother trying again if we had failed? 11
Why should we make an effort, mending our bonds? 11
These three questions run through my mind everyday. 11
If we're honest, it's because we don't want to. 11
We love the person way too much to let go. 11
We rather endure the pain and misery. 11
We, deep down, are the weaker ones since we love. 11
