Gaye Hemsley Poem
Although I’m no spring chicken,
I’d really like to say.
I finished my spring-cleaning,
only yesterday.
I sprung around the house,
cleaning high and cleaning low;
Stood back,
admired my work with face all aglow.
Then I went into the garden,
To plant out my spring onions.
But had to come inside,
To rest my feet and bunions
Some food into my tummy
would be rather nice,
so I picked up the phone
to order spring-rolls with rice.
I thought I’d put my feet up
on my favorite couch.
I sat upon a broken spring
and I let out a great big ouch!
Oh yes, spring’s a lovely season,
of that there is no doubt.
Enjoy all it has to offer,
that’s what life’s about.

Gaye Hemsley Poem
My nana loves to cook
She doesn’t need a book.
Recipes, from her head
She makes up, so she said.
I admit you’ll agree
Not each one is for me.
Chocolate sauce on steamed fish
Personally, not my wish.
On ice cream, chopped parsley
Yes I know, quite ghastly.
Politely, I did say
Let’s try things a new way.
I put on my chef’s hat
We sat down for a chat.
Together, a great pair.
Be patient, show you care.
Life can be a muddle
Give nana a cuddle.
Cuddles make smiles appear
And dissolve every tear.

Gaye Hemsley Poem
There was a farmer named Joe
Who took his sheep dog to a show.
Joe started to weep
Instead of mustering sheep
His dog lined up seagulls in a row.

Gaye Hemsley Poem
A cute little guy named Joe
Was completely made out of snow
He was a bit of a clown
Standing upside down
And his smile turned to a frown.

Gaye Hemsley Poem
Why did God make blowflies?
To try our patience
There is no doubt.
They'll land on juicy steak
When you leave it out
Very soon you will find
Little maggots wriggling on fresh meat
The blowfly has laid her babies
Now isn't that so sweet?
That's what God intended
All his creatures do
Go forth and multiply
That is his golden rule

Gaye Hemsley Poem
N Now the year has ended
E Every day has made its mark.
W What shall be remembered as we ponder in the dark?
Y Yesterday has gone, tomorrow is today.
E Eliminate the negative as you travel on your way.
A Accentuate the positive, it's not so hard to do.
R Reach out and take a hand and whisper, 'I love you.'

Gaye Hemsley Poem
There was a man who loved to swat flies.
Even when landing on his wife's thighs.
He said. 'Sorry my dear,
But I don't really care
They're aiming towards your mince meat pies.'

Gaye Hemsley Poem
Just a few days to Christmas
So much to do
Mum has decided
We’ll have a barbecue
Dad’s at the bank
Taking out some money
Baby’s in his highchair
Sucking on his dummy
Nan is in the garden
Picking pretty flowers
Big sister’s on the phone
For hours and hours and hours
Family are arriving
Putting presents my the tree
A small one for baby
A big one for me
We’d better all be good
And try not to fight
For Santa Claus is coming
In the middle of the night.
He’s a jolly fellow
In his suit of cherry red
Pull up the covers
Snuggle down in bed
Santa will arrive
In his jet propelled sleigh
Laughing and ho ho-ing
Across the milky way
Early Christmas morning
Look up into the sky
You will see a message
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND GOODBYE
