Life Is Too Short

In no time, seconds tick to minutes and minutes hasten to hours
Hours run full speed to days, days grow wings and fly to become weeks
Then months, years, decades….
Like a flash, all this like a flash, life is too short

Because life is too short,
Maximizing pleasure is for them no fault
Like one possessed, so the girl dances the night away
But her morning turns bitter, realizing she has gone faraway

And the devoted family man falls for it too ‘cause life is too short
For the sweet and the pleasant he craves,
So he steals the waters, and the bread in secret he breaks
But alas, to a piece of bread he is brought by his stolen waters

The church woman as well, and her feet, abide not in her house, for life is too short
“Come let’s take our fill of love till morning, for the good man has gone a long journey”
Like the adulteress spoken of by King Solomon, with her cage
She whispers to her latest catch, her last offspring’s age

Child, you’re wrong and that’s not the meaning, so hear
Not in your narrow interpretation life is surely too short, dear
Life is so short that you maximize enjoyment?
Child, you’re wrong and that’s not the meaning, so hear

Man, damn right life is too short; too narrow is your understanding
To share have I what really meanest it, so your attention please give me
I swear you will get it not even when you lend me both your ears
But your virgin mind too bring it along, so you appreciate what exactly meanest “life is too short”

Because life is too short,
The Heavenly Father wants to be your Lord
By His providence and His providence alone the King requires you in His fold
For life is too short, out of you your Creator wants to get the most with no fault

Woman, in His paths of light He wants to guide your weak feet
Before He takes from you His breath
‘Cause He knows life is too short to be lived meaninglessly, so precious is every minute He is to give
And independent of Him He doesn’t want you to live

Life is too short, dear
His perfect will on you is all He wants you to grasp clear
So that to His Kingdom you hugely contribute before His breath He takes away
For life is surely too short only in this way.

To Be What My Lord Would Have Me Be

I don’t want to be a king
I don’t want to be a knight
I don’t want to be an emperor
I don’t want to be a prime minister
I don’t want to be a Supreme Court judge
I don’t want to be anything
I just want to be me
To be only what my Lord would have me be.

I don’t want to win titles
I don’t want to amass fortunes
I don’t want to build castles
I don’t want to achieve popularity
I don’t want to travel places
I don’t want to do anything
I just want to do His perfect will
To do only what my Lord would have me do.

I don’t want to be a lord bishop
I don’t want to be a major prophet
I don’t want to be a holy father
I don’t want to be a senior apostle
I don’t want to be a mother superior
I don’t want to be anything
I just want to be a child of the King
To be only what my Lord would have me be.

The Song

This is my song
Come and sing along
For it is a love song

We all sing songs
Tunes from all life’s walks
Sing them all folks

Some melodies ring badly
Their stories finish wanly
And their singers end sadly

What song are you singing?
What strings are you strumming?
And what tune are you humming?

For I have to share the sweetest song
And you can sing along
Only if Jesus is your song
