Louise Mcintyre Poem
A - Love and Romance
Orchid Soul
You seen my beauty, my colours attracting you with each blossoming flower
You held your gaze as you tended to me lovingly
I grew stronger, my colours shone brighter
You fell in love with the beauty you seen
As the sun began to fade and darkness overcame
My petals beagn to fade
My outer beauty and the life you once knew
Slowly disappearing, withering away
Each petal that was lost, no flowers or colour remained
No-one else would see the life
Life that lay within the roots
You held on
You loved with care and patience
Nourishing from your soul, you reached out
For the life and beauty you once seen before
And then, a bud emerged
With hope in your eyes, you hoped
Roots now growing stronger, arms reaching out
Each precious bud awaiting their new begining
To lovingly share her new colours
beautiful colours flowering once again
Mirroring your love that you gave
I came back to life

Louise Mcintyre Poem
Caged
People talking, chatting, discussing your future around you
All serious and forlorn
I can hear the extractor fan in the room, making its dulling sound, drowning out the white noise that surrounds
Buzzing low and indiscreet
I can see the birds flying outside through the dirty locked windows
Connected to a reality and freedom that I am grasping at with both hands
I am here but not present
As my opinions are sought
Like cattle being prodded
I want to feel free
Like the outside bird looking in on me through the locked window of my mind

Louise Mcintyre Poem
Enchanted Spirit
Instinctively following her own path and truth
Connected to a freedom outwith her skin
An unspoken language
Journey of life testing her resolve
Heart and soul interwovan like tapestry
She leads, protects, empathises and nurtures
Her ferocity evolving over time
She hears her inner voice with open eyes
Knowingly, she accepts and understands
As her outer shell fades like the seasons
Her spirit transcending over time
She continues to survive

Louise Mcintyre Poem
Painted Walls
Pale yellowish paint peeling, torn and scratched from the hospital walls
Indication of time passing by
Time telling a thousand stories
If these walls could talk what would they share
The shadows on the walls are where most secrets are stored
Protecting themselves from the light
Reflecting the darkness of the mind
Stories of pain, anguish, uncertainty, fear and the unknown
Tales of companionship, unity and a common bond
Entrapped within your mind and the walls of the yellow paint
Staring into what lay ahead and what had passed
Examining the cracks of the paint and the reflection of your life
Hoping that these walls will be painted fresh with a new start
Life will once again be renewed
