Rupsa Is the Name of a River

O independent State, O civilized life
you give my Rupsa back.
Her desire, her love ... let me touch once.
I have seen the orphaned childhood
for a long time,
I saw deception and crafty kinship,
the penniless, lonely student life.
I understood the sex and forbidden nights,
the numerous political sins
of the wounded society,
the hunter is swift as the lightning,
what is called, the clever crime.
I saw the misery of exploited and
failed women.
I have been carrying, the distorted
dead body of the firm truth for a time.
I'm almost exhausted, almost zero.
It seems, at last a person likes
to go back to where he starts life.
O Goddess, return the childhood
of my father, who prematurely died.
Give me the unseen village back and
the beautiful Rupsa which flows beside.

The Villages Will Grow Into Cities

The sky starts where is the end of the city
Indeed, the villages are growing into cities
Riding the colourful balloons,
country is now really flying !
The picture of a surprising world,
is also really looking nice
Law and protection in one hand
and on the other, the values
will be stabbed in one night
Is there any hero who can fight !
There is the devil and
deep blue sea is also there, right
Looter, splendor, alliance, votes and notes
You can see all of them but you are acting
as if sleeping and do not wake up again
You are not a 'Z' category that before you fall
you will know when it stumbles and where
Always change the colour like a lizard
and you will learn how to mimic and
what is called an adaptation craft
Communication speed will be faster
but parents will be disconnected for ever
Only a few days are left ...
The villages will grow into cities !

Now Is the Time of Youth In Poetry

I saw you in your poetry ...
A bunch of orchid baths
in solitary forests
In your writing ...
The odd scent of water drops
in the wet breast line of Darjeeling
I saw youth in your poetry.

Luck ... you did not want
a separate state or country
Nowadays some want to be isolated.
Now you are young.
Go ahead, bathe in a heavy rain
Then build resistance to life.
Now is the time of youth in poetry.

I dream of a common world.
The water, the ground ...
the sky all together.
I believe in youth is one name of life
Because, I saw ... youth in your life.

The City and Sunanda

The city, your life is celebrating
the Durga Puja festival today.
Fencing four wheelers and busses ...
A glimpse of the brightest moonlight
'Tilottoma' is there, but
you are not Sunanda.
Looking back once again
on every street corner
has become my old habit now !
This is the great Asthami Puja's night.
This is the time when
the up Bongaon local train departs
leaving the ocean of people behind.
At the insistence of three prostitutes,
three young men hurries and put them
into empty train compartments.
Sunanda, this city has none except you,
who can rule the youth.
There is neither love, no affection
nor the discipline enough.
You know the biggest fear !
They are loosing principles,
there is no fear in their mind.
You please stay Sunanda
as only you can touch the fire.
Take this society in your unique
shape of heart.
Take the pollution on life.
Shelter the orphan childhood
from shallow soil of the river Ganges.
Even in the eyes of a wood-louse
lightning is still there.
You please return Sunanda,
I want to be sure and certain
in the next rally this time.

I Am Not Afraid

If I have so much courage, why am I afraid?

That is like that cowardly firefly
Here and there, the excluded, scattered light points
Do you know the reason?

This bio-luminescence of the cowardly firefly is actually
A youth’s determination to revolt
One of the inevitable attractions in the game of light,
To transcend is almost impossible

The wild partridge knows, the tribal girl knows,
Knows the deep forest
The evening knows, the hills and grasslands,
The wind knows, the rain knows
And a woman firefly knows the best

Does anyone else know that?

Mothers Are Like That

I heard many times before
When sad, mothers become trees
They become clouds,
when there is more sorrow
And a rosary,
when they are more sorry

I knew a long time ago,
The Annas and Paisas
That the grand mother carried with her
At the time of partition
Are stale coins now
Like our country and the river Ganges,
The river Padma and Teesta
And like the uncountable families
Mothers are being parted
Exhausted and sacrificed

I have seen many times before
Lighting evening lamps
At holy basil base
Praying before the divine mother
And after immolation of idols
Spraying the holy river water,
Chanting, 'Oh Peace !'
Mothers wish good lucks
And always wish our prosperity

I thought long ago
that Jerusalem via Nabadwip
Is indeed a long distance
And a journey is not possible,
crossing so many nation's border
I saw the mother's womb
And mother Teresa as well
Mothers are God
And become God in the order

Maraasim

I rejected your utterly ignorant request
with lily flowers in hand.
Don't you know the age, when
the arrow of romance stabs the heart
is almost over now !
Numerous white cows, sheeps and horses
in the endless green valley, circle around you.
Like many untoward relationships,
numerous butterflies come for your love.
The shame of bathing in Pangthumai falls alone ...
The clear water bed of sinking stone
Let the lily flowers be the reflected lips reservoir
Let me become skilled and flowing in love.
In the full moon light, snow is just accumulating
Let the December come in the river Piyain
Mita, please wait for a while ...
Maraasim is not quite brave and self-reliant till now.

Terror and Love

To touch the aircraft wheel on the country's soil
An emergency message ...
Authorities have arranged for drinking, feeding and sleeping
Emergency and sudden landing of soldiers across the country ...

After seventy two hours of terrorism, I came to know
I lost my dearest Nicholas
With the twin towers, the pride of nation
I lost him forever

After the catastrophe, with frightened and terrified hands,
I opened the letter box one day
A sealed blue envelope was delivered, stamped on 2001/09/11
The pearls are shed by him ...
"My dear Emily, you're my love
  .... and beyond love "

The Sky Is Flying

During this time,
I saw Mita as a sunshine
The entire summer
came down in the city
I snatched the tearing trade kite ...
The sky is now flying in the night

From the Pretty Shillong Peak

Day curfew throughout the city
The cavalry, who went on this route,
are missing
And the falling fog ...
nearly wiped their foot prints.

Comes the 'Kojagari' full moon night
The hills are now silver canvas
Yes, Raja Ravi Varma likes
to go missing in this way ...

Facing the pretty Shillong city,
I am sitting up.
Oh space, enlighten human life !
Seven stars of the Ursa major
can never be separated.
