A Man In the Mirror

It is he who looks upon you,
and knows your story in every detail.

It is he that has seen every tear,
wallow and dry upon your cheek.

It is he that knows every scar,
across your body, mind and heart.

If you give him a smile,
he will surely return the favor.

The connections you make,
as eyes lock fixated on each other.

For it is not only you that sees him,
but also that man in the mirror that sees you.

My Brain

my brain

millions of neural pathways solving problems
with logic, right and wrong
black and white

like ants descending their hill,
raindrops disturbing a puddle,
or bees scavenging for pollen.

all is systematic and controlled,
not a beat off tick

...

until ol’ red rears his sole mighty roar

and the ants glue to their pose,

and the water turns to ice,

and the bees wings can’t flap,

because they don’t know,
that burning sensation of red
or what it even means.
