The Balled of Little Joe

The story of little joe did not start out great
When we came and got him it was late
He looked like a fat little pig
He was a good little dog and did not dig

We took him home to meet the dogs
When he saw the family, he did a jog
He wanted to jump on us to be stable
That’s when sandy pushed him into a table

She barked and growled at little joe
Joe was scared and put his head low
Now they are friends after the fight
And they both sleep calmly in my bed every night

Then there is mean little cujo
She is angry at little joe
Cujo is very old and moldy
That’s why she looks like a bowl of guacamole

Joe is a sweet little dog
But not cujo not at all
One day they will be friends
And make amends

The Polar Bear

The white beast of the arctic circle
Stomping on the iridescent ice
Traveling far and wide across Alaska
Hunting for its next carnivore’s meal

He likes the ocean as cold as it can
Where he lives there is slush, not sand
The beast rest in a cave one starry night
They the sea reflecting the northern lights

Walking along the cold Russian snow
Her fur is transparent, it almost glows
The icy wind is rough and sharp
The bear finally smells some fresh carp

Relaxing after her mighty kill
She hasn’t eaten in a while doesn’t feel ill
Sliding against the ice to find her cubs
Sleeping peacefully in the snowy shrubs

Costa Rica

Very vibrant green lots of different trees
The quetzal bird sings in the bright morning
Aqua and red feathers fly through the fog
On the beach lay the tracks of a turtle
The sand is hot and soft during mid-day
It starts to rain in the wet green jungle
The strawberry darters hop in the rain
Pick some pineapples they grow nice and fresh
Pink, red and purple flowers grow on vines
your ears pop as you go through the mountains
look over the landscape green all around
colorful butterflies drift against trees
watch the sunset on the sweet Limon coast
gaze the night sky the shooting stars are bright

An Ode To Thunder Storms

An ode to thunder storms

Thunder storms are wonderful day or night
The lighting flashing very bright
The thunder as loud as a herd of elephants
Striking our ears with the sound of vengeance

First the air gets damp and thick
The wind picks up with a slight kick
The birds all fly back to their trees
The waves crash hard and heavy in the sea

You hear a small roar in the distance
Lighting just flashed and you missed it
The dark frightening clouds turns navy blue
Some people will hope it will just pass through

Minutes pass and the louder the roar
Like a pride of lions outside your door
All the trees shake along with the house
You dog gets scared and hides behind the couch

It’s over now just the smell of rain in the air
The damage to your house and yard is fare
You look outside on the down low
Looking up after the storm

Halloween Sonnet

Halloween sonnet
The leaves begin to fall, the pumpkins grow
The grave yards get colder just so you know
That black cats aren’t magic, they are not fun
They don’t sparkle and glitter like the sun
Many dark forests become homes for ghost
A scare crow comes alive and leaves its post
The moon is bright but it’s still very dark
You can’t see the bats fly and a dog barks
Barks at nothing at least that’s what you think
There’s something outside or in the closet
You could go grab the phone but you lost it
Was it the wind or the house settling?
Its noting just my strange mind medaling
Look behind you you’re not alone any more

All About Me

I love thunder storms and Mexican food
I love dogs and being in a good mood
I like learning new things
I used to wear my hair in bangs
It looked really crappy
But now my hair is really happy
I don’t play sports or go outside
Or else my allergies will go on the rise
I could lay in bed all day long
Listening to my favorite songs
I love musicals and cheesecake
I would go to see some but I’m a cheapskate
There’s to many people in this school
If it was just me that would be cool
I love pink glitter
And hate when people litter
I am really sick and totally rad
I I’m done with this poem and super glad

Summer Memories

Summer memories

That Friday night
If I could have thought of something
When he was looking

125th street
the pictures
see them again
see them a thousand times
same as the old ones anyway

the night
people on the street
go home and sleep
its Monday again

the summer went to fast
in the park
a dim light flicked though his window
how did I get here?
stopping to catch his breath
staring out the window
he didn’t turn around

A Reason

A reason to get out of bed
A reason to get out under the covers
A reason to get dressed and showered
A reason to stop and smell the flowers

A reason to ride my bike
A reason to walk around at night
A reason to smile at a stranger
A smile that means no danger

A reason to relax and drink some tea
A reason to lounge around my hose freely
A reason not to stare at the clock
A reason to not listen to heavy rock

Running around in the cold rain
I don’t have a reason for any of these things
Sometimes I just like to complain
Sometimes I just don’t want to do anything
