I Am Black History

I am a Negro.

Young,gifted, and black.

I have been to the golden gates of heaven and felt the blazing heat of the doors to hell.

Then made my way back.

I have cried a sea full of tears.

I have been beating as a slave.

Whips all across my back.

The white man speaks down on me.

He seem to see what I'm soon to be.

I am a gift.

A gift from God to a unholy earth.

I have done some wrongs and some rights.

I have won and lost some fights.

I have been in love,I have falling out.

I am young.

So I have room to grow.

I still have people to see and places to go.

I have room to grow smarter.

I still have room to improve and try harder.

I am a dreamer.

I know what I wannabe when I get older.

I daydream to stay heated in a world that's growing colder and colder.

I am a poet.

I let my mind run freely.

Then let my pen speak for me.

I grow wisdom each time I write.

I am Black History.

I Make history, I don't let it make me.

Tear Drops

Tear drops do u hear them?

Drip,drip,drip

Tear drops rolling down my cheeks and roll onto my lips.

Drip,drip,drip

Tear drops of loneliness and banishment,

Drip,drip,drip

Tear drops of heartbreak and hatred.

Drip,drip,drip.

Tear drops roll down my arm and fall onto my pen.

Drip...drip....DRIP.

Then the tear drops i shed finally comes to an end.

D.R.E.A.M

Some seek for something that would never be theirs.

Some fall back from life because they're scared.

Some go through life with people telling them what they can't do.

I know because I'm just like you.

But I live to prove people wrong.

A dream lives within everything.

A happy or bad home.

A happy or sad song.

But who really knows what the word "Dream" really means?

Well I do.

Doubt Really Encourages A Man - D.R.E.A.M - it seems.

Living to prove someone wrong that's what makes a dream.

Wanting to be something greater then you are, that's what makes a dream.

To try to live to help your family, that's what makes a dream.

Never let anyone tell you what you can't do.

They're mad at what you can do.

Make a name for yourself - see me,
the name's Young Gifted.

Because I been in this game so long I'm known to be gifted.

What I'm trying to say is if God gave you a gift use it.

Let the haters talk.

And keep your dream alive.

Just Wanted To, You Know, Get To Know You.

There's this girl that I only known for like three days.

"She's a good catch bro, I mean she will give you some play."

Yeah that's what my friends say.

But I heard so much about her, but we really never met.

until one night I saw her and I was hooked, just like that.

But I'm not the type of dude that just talk to a girl to get in they pants.

I just wanted to get to know shorty, you understand what I'm sayin'?

So our 2nd meetin' we start to talk.

A little flirtin' back to back, I knew it was a good start.

So I was like, "Look ma. lets be real."

She said, "What do you mean?"

I said, "I know you feelin' me a little, I don't know why but you seem like a girl that
really need a nice guy."

She smiled and said, "Sure you right, but you just met me um last night? Dang I
sometimes do that on dudes."

I smiled and said "Dang, what you mean? I'm goin' tell you now I'm nowhere near
like any other dudes."

She laughed and said, "Oh true, but hms what you tryin' do?"

I said, "I'm tryin' you know, get to know you."

One Pen One Page One Dream

Some say I write the truth.

They say if I sell my work my bankroll would skyrocket to the roof.

I say writing is just an everyday thing for me.

It's not a job; it's more like a dream for me
.
I do it out of feeling, I do it for fun.

I know when I have a child my gift is going to be pass down to my son.

I'll tell him everything starts out as a dream.

All it takes is one dream it seems.

To make a poet all it takes is one pen.

To start a book all it takes is one page.

But to make a great poet it starts out as a dream it seems.

I know what you're saying, what do all this mean?

To be a writer like me it takes one pen, one page, one dream.

Oh How I Missed You

Here we are reunited for the first time

Our past love making is some what of a mini movie in my mind.

But to myself I wonder; how could I let you slip away from me?

But then I'm forced to remember all the stressful times placed upon me.

Which told me how our heaven fallout went.

I shake my head in dismay at the thoughts that's causing hateful aura my way.

So I block them out with a thought of a slightly sweet, calm, and peaceful day.

Then I go back to remembering how I use to deep stroke you with so much passion for the
fun of it.

Then I would run with pure bliss to share the tale of it!

I shared so much of you, people ears some what became a slave when ever I speak word
of it.

You may think this is a poem about sex.

And how I hit some girl, then fell in love with telling people it.

No this is a poem of my first love and how I truly missed her, and I'm not scared To admit it.

Oh how I love Poetry, and oh how I missed it.

A Hungry Poet

Walkin' through these streets without anything to eat.

Dirty shirt and dirty shoes on his feet.

Tryin' make it but the streets isn't easy.

Pen in his ear with a notebook on his side.

With this he plans his raise.

He watches the birds fly away without a care in the world, in his mind he wishes
he can do the same.

But he steady find his self stuck in the street game.

Black bandana round his forehead one around his leg.

Even doe he knows the fast life goin' have him endin' up dead.

"I'm goin' hustle till my girl and me pack up and live this city."

That's what he said.

He tried prayin' but nothing changed.

"I don't want to do this but a brother got too eat."

He had this state of mind since he lost his friends and family.

Naw, not from death or sickness.

"They just turned their backs' on me."

That's what the young poet said as he shook his head.

But he had one person he can still trust.

Her name's Kelsea and she's his world.

She's pretty, understanding, and you know having a good head on her shoulders
was a must.

She's so much like him in so many ways, a outsider lookin' in wouldn't even be
able to comprehend.

He said they're goin' be together till end.

"If I turn that into a lie it's goin' be my worst sin."

She believed in him and everything he do.

"Don't worry Denny I'm goin' take care of you."

In the back of his mind he knew it was way pass the truth.

They sit on a windy hilltop lookin' at the stars holdin' hands.

 until she said to him.

"Well? What's its goin' be?"

he replied back.

"You already know baby. Time to hit the streets, 'cause I'm still hungry."

I Can Feel It In the Air

We're in a bad state of our life.

The nation is in a uproar over simple-minded things.

Why we let a thing such as oil run our life?

Women in short skirts.

Known in the "Hood" as female dogs.

But we don't see how much they really hurt.

Gang shooting two young black males hurt one dead.

Ten seconds later there's a Ak shot in the air.

"This just in! Five year old girl hit by a stray bullet!" That's what the reporter said.

Seventeen year old girl three kids one on the way.

Babydaddy stay knocking her off her feet.

He leaves no money, but two darked eyes, how will the kids eat today?

"He was such a bright son, I don't know what went wrong." That's what the upset
mother said with tears in her eyes.

Docters said the bullet can't be removed.

Her son dies just because he had to nmake them look past his size.

"Dear Nation, we're at war with Japan, Cuba, China!" Said the president of the
United Sates.

We push them to make toys. shoes, and food.

How much did we think they could take?

People I write this not to get you mad nor sad.

I'm just trying make you all watch out ffor that day.

Take hold of every good time you ever had.

Naw, I joke you not sir!

The Lord Jesus might show up out the wood works.

Call me crazy if you want, but look I can feel it in the air!

Goodbye Forever

To my uncles Bam and Lil Man

It's easy to say hi, but its hard to say goodbye,
It's even harder to say goodbye when someone dies.

I did not cry, but that didn't mean he had to die
I said goodbye, and I didn't cry, Why?

Maybe it's because I know it's our destiny
Though people are locked up were out begging to be free
I truly don't know if that'll ever happen,
My uncles were what was up they were not has beens,
I may be young, but I knew what''s going on
For all of us one day they'll have to sing a sad song

Don't ask why, I'm dying inside
Because I didn't get a chance to say goodbye
I wish I could've said hi once more before he died

God takes good people away
To make us pay for what we did yesterday
So I just lay down and pray to God
Asking him to let me see another day
Let's sit and pray.

Trust It

Can’t help how you feel.

I know your feelings may sound good or bad.

Or sometimes it could be the best feeling you ever had.

If your feelings tell you, you got to let it go - let it go.

But if it tells you to work with it then you know.

I say this because there’s a girl I’ve been feeling like this for a while.

So I’m just trust my feelings for now.

Besides how I feel still makes me smile. 
