An Empty Swing

The saddest thing in the world, is seeing an empty swing.
The swing that once held a small child giggling, laughing, swaying in the breeze.
The swing that once held an elderly couple smiling and holding hands,
thinking back and reflecting on things that might have been.
The saddest thing in the world is seeng an empyty swing.
The swing that once held a mother and child, reading stories and telling dreams.
The swing that once held a boy and his frog, or a girl and her dog.
The saddest thing in the world is seeing an empty swing.
Holding all the memories of what used to be.

Paw

Some children will never know the feeling of having a wonderful granddad,
Growing up I got to experience all the love and joy you had.
When God created you, he made a great and wonderful man,
Now he has come to call you and take you by the hand.
Sometimes your daily work went from sun to sun,
But the work you did for me was never left undone.
You passed down to me your big blue sparkling eyes,
And even though you're gone, I still feel you by my side.
As a child I shared with you much joy, love and laughter.
The stories that you told always ended happily ever after.
The memories we built together will truly always be.
Thank you for sowing the seeds of faith, hope and love in me.

The Greatest Thing

The Greatest Thing

The greatest thing is....
To wake up every morning and know you're in my life
and to know that together we'll share all our heartaches, grief and strife.
To laugh and giggle and see that smile spread across your face
and to stand by your side and know I'm in the perfect place.
To cherish our friendship each and every day
and to know that together we'll always find a way.
To give you my life, my love, my soul and my heart
and to miss you incredibly whenever we're apart.
To pledge my loyalty to you and to love you for who you are
and to always be there for you, no matter how close or how far.
To tell you all my hopes, wants and wishes
and to know that when I have a bad day, you'll cover me in kisses.
To know that one day very soon we'll start our life together
and our strong passionate love will always last forever.
For on that day you place upon my hand that golden symbolic ring,
that will truly be the greatest thing.

He Is

He Is

The most incredible man I’ve ever met.
The image of that first smile I will never forget.
When we’re together the world is right.
It is his mission to protect me day and night.
The sweet kisses leave me with a sigh.
He stares at me with deep loving eyes.
I feel things that I have never before felt.
His sweet words make my heart melt.
On his shoulder I can always cry.
It makes me feel all warm inside.
I will love him until the very end.
He is my husband, my best friend.
