Yusuf Abdulfatai Poem
TO MY BLOOD
The very lone lodge visited I
Since between us an inevitable nap
In endless rows the route to sky
Seated my blood long ahead now
Thus butterfly beyond my cecity
And there was I deadly alive
Windmill by wind their glossolalia
In reverberant, whispered to my ears
Till my file be close our sight
When it drip no more of hourglass
And the orb to ants but a mat
By seven hundred years of our stand.

Yusuf Abdulfatai Poem
PRESENCE IN ABSENCE
It been long, longer to say you've stayed
Bother not to knock at the neighbour's room for keys
That might have disturbed their sleeping pills
I lost all down the depth of bermuda without conflict
Out of pictures came the memory lane to me piece by piece
Without vice versa exchange with the moon while still asleep
If resurrection for death awaits to revisit
Welcoming without pass, passes through our gate
And when you set to sail home again without leave
See me as a whore in tempest, to rape the wind to ecstacy
Toast with the toasted bread that never ends eating alone
Let the moment go extra mile in mind with you, our walks only a mile can take for you

Yusuf Abdulfatai Poem
Nature looks weary abut the boom gate
Like a faithful prostitute dun for her pay
With hand on cheek, the other wave way
By ageless sky con beloving gaze
And Sam to Delilah, a giant betrayed
In boneless bliss, made Achilles to heel
What fate the peep to me had brought?
When time..., yet permits me to decide
To crisscross between heaven and earth.
