Gary Sherman Poem
There is nothing quite so serene as the quietness of a mountain forest in the early morning fog. A nearby tranquil stream, the silence only broken by the the continuous murmuring sound of water flowing over stones. So peaceful & calm, that it gives one pause. It is places and moments such as these where I find myself in reflective thought. It begins clumsily at first but then slowly begins to take shape in my mind. Every minute, every hour, every day, crosses one upon the other. Streams of pictures, slowly taking shape. With or without consciousness these very images form the basis of my life. Whether good or bad, I realize that this is my life. After consideration and thought, I ask myself is this it? Is it good enough?
Could I have made it better? How will I be judged? How do others see me? How will I be remembered when my time is through and I am gone? The only answer I receive is silence. The answers do not come. They are there,..they must be. Just out of reach....that's all. I say a silent prayer asking God to help me and to forgive me for any wrong I have brought to others, for any sins I have born. I ask to noone, "Have I led a good life?"..."Am I a good man?". Others, then will have to answer for me, for as the fog lifts and my eyes follow a lazy leaf making it's way down the babbling stream, my thoughts return to the present, and I continue down the path I have begun.

Gary Sherman Poem
Ah! SLEEP, sleep...perchance to dream. May the pain go away & allow me that blissful rest.
I seek but a moments silence & solitude. A chance to forget the thoughts of day.
Oh, Sleep, sleep, grant me this, I pray.
