Joseph Babatunde Poem
Seed of anthropology
Blue-print of ancient antique
Antecedence of brown skin politic
Deity to pre-colonial centralised culture
A republic with institutionally adorned grace for violence
Bodija (they are ever ready)
Awon ti ogun koleko; undefeatable and resilient in battle
Ibadan the light to many
The beauty of brown in head covering
Ibadan the birth-place of ancient civilization
The unbreakable wall of Yoruba defence
The home of warriors,
the seat of bashorun,
even the Lords of Britain knew Ibadan for it art and act of unique diplomacy.
If there ever was a city
If the brown continent was to have a Paris
If love was to have a home
My rest and comfort will be my city; IBADAN.

Joseph Babatunde Poem
In the last place I saw coming
From failure came victory
I am glad I saw the light in my darkest moment
I found smiles with you Princess
Your priceless beauty destroys me
My lonely moments is hijacked
A takeover by precious flashbacks of you
I am your lover yet your secret admirer
I Wana keep a "Yes" from you my daily delight
For you, I could write rhymes and hymns
Dream lullabies and live fairytale
My coat of many colours
My heart races and raises as thoughts of you swims
Butterflies soar high in my heart
My belly steams in sweetness
It's a choice to love you with no regrets.

Joseph Babatunde Poem
As we run to the end of time
And pace to have memories as treasures
I need you to know that letting go is a painful beauty
But i have to be bold and brave
From an ebony in pink and black
You became my unborn daughter
Your desire started it but your heart made it so
And now you gotta go
I never thought leaving could hurt so much
My daughter of priceless laugher
The one that chose my thought
And defended my weakness
Thank you for the comfort you gave to strains and sprains
Thank you for your cute-jealousy
You brought smiles when it was dark
You were the glitter through the tunnel
My talk mate, friend and babygirl
The one I put "priceless" as her tag
My profound wise one
Missing you saddens my joy.
And you can be sure of your place in my heart my Julia.

Joseph Babatunde Poem
I've found happiness and priceless joys
Like gravity's pull
I navigate towards odds
Not faultlessness but perfect imperfections
Not spotlessness but a design in every dot and curve

Joseph Babatunde Poem
You are meaning to my life
Your eyes
Your smile
Your voice
Your priceless look of scepticism
It's a dream in reality to me
With you is love and friendship
With you is a grace to be more
I'll proudly journey life with you
Now is the strength to take on the world
Here is the capacity to decide the fate of all oppositions
All because you are mine
I might have had my first human love, but you are my one true love
I look forward to the moment I'll put gold on you as a covenant of commitment
I can't wait to have your price paid
To adore you is my desire
To make you fufilled is goal
To love you is my life's duty

Joseph Babatunde Poem
Smiles irreplaceable
Soft diction
A gracious heart
Yet, pierced we are, by the knowledge we now have
You never tried to own the stage
Yet your absence soils the heart of many
You were his all and the one we can never replace
My friend,
this depth of pain make words lame
I love you as a friend and as a sister
I wish I never had to write this
But rest on our priceless
Rest from the daily vain toils
We'll miss your body but your art and heart lives on
Your smiles lives on
Your words lives on
Our GRACE lives on
Sadness reiterated in tears and anguish.

Joseph Babatunde Poem
All it took was a NO
Anticipations and desires smashed
Could anything be more devastating?
Stupid am I for expecting
Unwise I am for wanting
A tearful pay for the thoughts
I wish I did not try.

Joseph Babatunde Poem
Decision without doubt or uncertainty
Seen slaves rule and kings beg
Thoughts far above random insanity
Moon in the day as rocks breaks like egg
Love is the dream
She is my ecstasy
Oval in perfection with eyes so slim
Her charming smile is all I joy to see
All of her possesses my heart in commotion
Overriding my senses to a state of hanker
Aside this verity, let me live an illusion
For her love is all for which I hunger
It is my joy to remain your insane love
My garden of roses with a red dove.

Joseph Babatunde Poem
To have conceived you as mine
To have chosen a princess for a serf
To have made my imperfections whole in you
God must be a lover.
