Marylouise Goguen Poem
It is a new day
Something wonderful happened
You are now at peace
Like a phoenix rising up
From the ashes you prevail
We shall not mourn you
For you are not gone at all
We may not see you
Your presence lives on in us
Enduring the test of time
Radiant light shines
Upon us all forever
Glorious rays gleam
Emitting from your spirit
Keeping your memory strong
The lives you have touched
Will never forget you now
Though we may shed tears
These are tears of happiness
Your spirit forever reigns
In the days to come
When we are all together
Celebrating life
Your spirit will consume us
Your peace will be our strength
Joy and happiness
Will be felt every moment
You gave us reason
To have faith in the future
Your legacy will live on…………..

Marylouise Goguen Poem
She looked shyly at him from behind her menu
His eyes were a baby blue that sent chills
Through her whole body; she could melt right here
And have that waitress he’s talking to mop her up
Typical Barbie doll type with an pretentiously
Effervescent personality that makes you want to
Roll your eyes and scoff--The environment they
Were in was a hustle and bustle type of place
Where time waits for no man...as soon as people
Were done eating, they were cleared out and
Another party was ushered in
“It is essential to business that you eat,
Order and then leave.” The Barbie Doll waitress’
Nasal twang only served as a catalyst for
Her frustration--She kept peering over her
Menu at the Adonis that kept her enraptured
“Well Honey, what’s it gonna be?”
Barbie’s voice oozed of impatience
Not taking her eyes off The Gorgeous One,
She replied softly, “I need more time.”
Barbie’s demeanor escalated from
Impatience to hysterical--“More time!
Honey, you gotta order, or you gotta go!”
As the hand went to the waist
And the hip thrusted out.
Now she had enough of this witch and her
Attitude---Why couldn’t she just go somewhere
Nice to eat and be able to enjoy the view?
“No, I don’t gotta go---You do! She exclaimed
As she stood up, knocking her bag to the floor;
Menu flailing back and forth
You are SO nasty, why would I want to eat
Here? You probably SPIT in the food!”
The waitress stood back, aghast
What evolved next was most of the patrons
Getting up and leaving; unpaid checks and
Half-eaten plates the fallout of this outburst
The owner, who tried to assure people there was
No saliva in the food, bellowed for the waitress
To get into his office while the rest of the staff
Scurried around trying to recover from the
Losses they incurred
As she took a deep breath, picked up her
Bag and her dignity, The Gorgeous One
Came from behind, put his arm around her
And smiled
“That was the greatest thing I ever saw,
He said as his eyes shone intensely on her
What’s your number?” And she felt like a
Rocket flying to the Moon
Elation to go.........with a side order of
Breathless

Marylouise Goguen Poem
Loyal
Monogamous
Infinite Faithfulness
Devotion to last a lifetime
Til Death do us part, why’d you break my heart
Destroyed in just one brief moment
Shattering to pieces
The one who stayed
Loyal
Cheater
Duplicitous
What a bogus excuse
You are for a human being
Such disloyalty has shattered my heart
A crime which you find trivial
An unfaithful scoundrel
As cold as ice
Cheater
Freedom
What I've attained
Since you walked out that door
No longer will I cry for you
You were never worth wasting time over
Now my days will be spent for me
All my dreams will come true
Now that I have
Freedom
Lonely
What you've become
A fitting consequence
For a man too foolish to see
He couldn't have his cake and eat it too
Now you are fat with all the lies
You tried serving to me
Now YOU are left
Lonely

Marylouise Goguen Poem
Providence
That’s where we were going
Just to get a tattoo
At the zenith of daybreak
We drove down early to
Get there when they opened
Easy, right?
Ho-No!
Your directions made me
Dazed and confused
I could comprehend nuclear physics
Better than your map
And when I took a wrong turn
You should have just put me on
Trial than subject me to the verbal
Barrage you spewed
You’d think Mercury was careening
Into Earth ready to make ghosts
Of us all
Could we foster a truce
Just so we could find our way
Back home again?

tangerine blossom
bursting with vitality
hue glows resplendent
Breathtaking beauty

Captivating awe

Marylouise Goguen Poem
Majestically standing at the podium just so
These men of power with prestige and honor
Making promises; can they be kept?
While our father and sons
March into the face of death
What can they offer us?
What will they do
Come the day of reckoning
Are we the fools
Whose heads will be the example of
Leadership gone mad and drunk with
An uncontrollable power?
Too big to handle alone
Playing God and the Devil at once
Who will we choose
To march us into Freedom,
Peace and redemption
Choose wisely and be particular
How many caskets do we need to fill?
How much land is there left to bury?
Innocent lives with loved ones left behind
To prove the strength worthy of being
The One True Omnipotent Superpower
There is only one Lord God Almighty
But if we keep this up, we shall never
See the day we meet Him

Marylouise Goguen Poem
Tears fall from a round cherub face
Who feels her life is a big disgrace
Who feels she is just a charity case
Who takes up way too much space
Who knocked over the hand painted vase
From Italy
Because she thought she was too obese
An ugly savage beast
And wanted her life to cease
Because people liked to tease
About her wanting the last piece
Of pizza
So she decided right there and then
No more crash diets or Phen-Fen
No more envying her friends
No more rejections from men
No more carrot sticks again
She's starving
Because she hates the way she looks
And having to buy all those books
Those diet gurus are crooks
Playing on her emotions is the hook
That reeled her in from her little nook
She's miserable
All 125 pounds of her was crying out
For a way to escape right out
From dejection and self doubt
She just wanted to scream and shout
She saw only one solution as a route
Plastic surgery
Because it was the only way
To want to live another day
Without having to hope and pray
That she would not become afraid
And slit her wrists with a razor blade
Psychotherapy
So a doctor she took herself to
And guess what that quack wanted to do
Rhinoplasty her nose into
One like little Cindy Lou Who
Said he’d make it like brand new
She bought it
Because her nose was to be done
Next was her chin—it looked like a Cinnabon
No wonder she was being shunned
He said he’d spare her the dejection
and give her a neck like an elegant swan
She believed it
Next was her breasts—they needed a lift
The size does matter if you catch my drift
Your popularity will benefit
From putting some silicone in your tit
Its quite exciting, you’ll have to admit
She oohed
Because her abs and butt were a terrible blight
To leave them like that it would not look right
They needed to look taut and tight
What a plight!
Liposuction would be a wonderful sight
She aahed
Surgery was schedule for tomorrow at dawn
She didn’t see how she could do any wrong
She went shopping and bought a new thong
Her depression was gone
She felt twice as strong
Is she delusional?
The surgery happened right on time
Where’s the police-isn’t this a crime
This girl looks absolutely fine
What is flawed is just her mind
Society has not been kind
Is she to blame?

Marylouise Goguen Poem
Abandoned soul lost in a tempestuous storm
Cascading raindrops stream down the window pane
Oblivious is she to her own mournful wailing
Leeches line up to lay claim on their investment
Darkness falls soundly, hollowing out the pit of her being
Dirty deeds done cheap cost her more than her life's worth
Abundant is her despair as she lay spread eagle in a trance
Retching pain sears a trail of unbearable anguish through her
Knight in shining armor rusted stiff in her backyard
Noble efforts faltered, too frozen is her spirit
Invincible is she to Love's embracing flame
Gone is her heart, forbidden fruit consumed by savages
Howl wind, Howl, sing a song of Misery
Tonight she is a ghost cast away amongst the shadows
A cold dark night
Chills run through me as I witness her plight
A cold dark night
Despair and heartache have made her cease to fight
A cold dark night
Her secrets exposed by the pale moonlight
A cold dark night
Sins more frightening than the blackest of nights
A cold dark night
This star's burning out; once shining so bright
A cold dark night
