Cry

You said things you didn't mean.
His feeling you hurt.
But he never listens to what you have to say.
Trying to wash dishes, it just gets to you.
Stay strong.
Don't cry.
Just finish the dishes and walk away.
Here he goes again.
You don't do anything, he says.
Yes I do, you say.
What? What do you do...
get on the computer?
watch t.v.?
play around? he shouts.
Homework, you say while fighting back the tears.
Trying to make sure I have a better life, you say.
What you need to do is clean, he says.
Is he for real?
Would he really rather me clean that make sure I have a better life?
Is he mad?
Finish the dishes, he shouts.
But you - never mind! you say.
Stay strong.
Don't cry.
Just finish the dishes and walk away.
Dishes done.
Now walk away.
Almost there.
Shut the door.
Now you can cry.
Wait a second.
Someone is at the door.
He walks in.
Daddy what do you want? you ask.
This is my house and I can do whatever I want, he shouts.
Stay strong.
Don't cry.
Just take it and shut the door.
No.
Don't take it.
Fight back.
He shouldn't make you feel this way.
Daddy you're not being fair, you say.
You never listen anymore, you say.
What are you doing?
Are you mad?
This is your father you are talking to.
No.
You are not mad.
Its time he knows how you feel.
Stand up for yourself.
Fight back.
Let him know how it feels.
He walks out and shuts the door.
You look him in the eyes as he leaves.
There is so much hurt in them.
You finally made him feel how you feel.
And yet, you feel like the bad guy.
Stay strong.
Don't cry.
But you can't help it.
Let it all out.
Cry.

He Doesn'T Notice

We talk all the time,
But he doesn't know.
I love him with all my heart,
But he doesn't notice.
I try to hint it to him,
But he doesn't notice.
Will he ever know? I wonder.
Will we ever be together? I wonder.
Will he ever notice?
He has that baby look in his face.
I wonder if he notices that.
He doesn't notice that I love him,
And will always love him no matter what.
But...does he notice?

The Sweating Sun

My eyes watch the trees grow
as the sun sheds sweat.
The yellow beads of sweat taste sweet on my open mouth.
I am lost in all the sweetness around me.
The sun is sweating so much, it looks like rain.
Perspiration watering the trees
So I can watch them grow next spring.

Life

Life is a very precious thing.
Without it you are not the same.
Take it with you wherever you go.
Don't leave home without it.

Life comes at you fast.
You never know what's going to hit you.
You can be alive one day and gone the next.
Life is a very priceless thing.

Life is priceless.
life is happy and sad.
Life is being alive.
but most of all, life is you.

So don't waste one minute of it.
Don't waste it on drugs.
Don't waste it on time.
Don't waste it on wishing or regretting.

Life is your most prized possession.
Your life is about you.
Spend your life on achieving goals.
Live your life to the fullest.

A Poem For You

You want a great poem,
But I can't give you one.
You expect so much from me,
And I don't.
You embarrass me so much,
And I hate it.
You don't know when to stop,
You go way to far.
I can't wait till' this is over.
I don't like it one bit.
If you're still expecting a great poem,
Then this one is true,
Because it comes from my heart.
I wish you could see,
But you're too full of yourself.
I bet you can't see that either.
You don't respect me,
So I don't respect you...
Its time to start treating me right,
Because this is a poem for you.

Why?

Why is the sky blue?
Why do some people just not care?
How does that work?
What is far enough?
When will I see you again?
Where will you be?
Can we work it out?
Why do you think you can treat me that way?
What is your problem?
Who do you think you are?
Why do you think you can just walk all over me?
Why?
You know, I've always wanted to know,
Why is the sky blue?

For Ricky

You were a strong person.
You overcame so much.
You were bound and determined
to overcome this one.
Your body may not have been strong enough,
But your soul was, and still is.
We will miss you terribly,
You will probably miss us.
But you are no longer suffering,
and I'm glad of that.
I can't wait to see you again.
You were one of my "Daddys".
But we'll all see you again in that big place in the sky,
one day.
Your body maybe in the ground,
But your soul lives on forever in our hearts.
