Summer Hackney Poem
to be silly and true
to be the only times when around you.
to feel no worry
no sadness coming through.
only happiness and giddiness
to be absolutely silly and not care.
waltzing through the crowded places
singing the Doom song.
who knows what is to be
can't hide my emotions when your near.
either in my thinky place or yours
craziness how things work out.
never to be expected
who would have thought?

Summer Hackney Poem
Domestic violence,
Killings,
Robberies, child abuse,
Disturbing visions,
Wars,
All of this, in the evening news.

Summer Hackney Poem
Since the beginning of the year,
We've been through so much.
Through doctors appointments,
Family meetings, and surgery.
But one last treatment,
Then celebration.
Celebrating YOU!
Your courage, strength, and will to go on.
You have inspired us all.
We all realize that it's been tough,
Especially at the beginning.
But we've also seen how you've handled it.
So in all,
I just wanted to say,
I LOVE YOU MEMAW!

Summer Hackney Poem
Black as night,
Darkest day,
I dream of you,
As though you may.
I wish to Heaven,
That you were here,
By my side,
And always near.
White as day,
Brightest night,
I please hope,
That we never fight.
To you this day,
I promise my heart,
And from now on,
I hope to never part.

In which I do, Only think,
Think only of you.

Summer Hackney Poem
The night before the next surgery,
Playing games in the hotel room.
Laughs and giggles all around.
Tomorrow forgotten for now.
Getting your mind off of things,
You are sitting there laughing,
Carrying on. Tomorrow will be different
No goofing off. No laughter.
Serious tomorrow.
Rushing about in the morning
Getting you to the hospital,
Getting the rest of the cancerous tissue.
Chemo treatments to help heal it all.
That's the surgery that's left,
The removal of the lymph nodes,
And the insertion of a chemotherapy port.
Then we're all set.
Then we will be able to get back to normal.
Normal?

Summer Hackney Poem
days go by,
everyone rushing about.
no one taking the time,
to find the beauty in things.
to actually stop and see something,
i mean really see, not just look.
but they finally see it,
when they notice its gone.
lost to them forever.
but the memories remain.
photographs of the mind.
so take the time,
slow down, breathe.
and look at all the things around you.
see the beauty in them.
sieze the beauty, Carpe Diem.
before its too late.

Summer Hackney Poem
look into my eyes
and tell me what you see.
do you see me,
the real me?
the little girl thats scared,
the one with dreams,
the ambitions?
do you see the little girl,
who longs to be loved.
or the woman,
who wants to acheive the
goals she sets for herself?
the woman who longs for a companion,
longs for the love and compassion,
only a real man can give her?
or do you just see,
some neive female,
one you can manipulate?
well open your eyes!
i am all these things.
but it is YOU who have the choice,
of which one you see.

Summer Hackney Poem
you were always there
to dry my tears
and play with my hair
now the time has come
for me to be strong for you.
your going through a tough time
never thought it could happen.
it happens to other people not me
is what your thinking.
treatments, check-ups, doctors and hospitals.
we that that was over
when your heart troubles were through.
now its a lump
a little over a centimeter in mass
but enough to know
something's not right.
went for a check-up,
leadking to a consultation.
worries, nerves, and jitters
with all the family in the waiting room.
you come out to explain
your in tears.
we know its not good.
the early stages of breast cancer
is what we hear
its benign. all in one spot
a week til its removal
a week til its gone.
so man emotions
getting hugged all about.
then i see her break down and cry
wet hot tears running down her face
scared is what i see and feel
i turn my head.
i can't stand to see
i want to be strong
want to be supportive.
like she was for me
but i don't know if i can.
SCARED.
