Baby Plants

Babies soft fingers and their tiny toes,
are like lucious petals on a bright red rose.

Little wild mushrooms like babies bald heads,
constantly growing in most flower beds.

Their fingerprints, white stars in the sky,
and the rain, oh the rain, the tears babies cry.

The sound little rattles make when thrown on the floor,
like the noise of the thunder when it's starting to pour.

                              Babies are like flowers,
tulips or lilacs, a daisy a rose.

                              Babies soft fingers,
                                     and their tiny toes.

Morning Meowing

The young woman's awake,
                          still sleep in her eyes.

      For she was awoken,
                      at quarter to five.

      This poem made possible,
                              by Calli's shrill cries.

Though this utter lack of sleep,
                    might lead to her demise.

 ~This poem is dedicated,
to my 8 week old kitten Calli.
I am surely not thanking her
for it ----- not yet anyways.

Seasons

Winter, spring, summer, fall.
                                  Many seasons, love them all!

                                                  Winter
                                         white, nippy, chilly.

                                                   Spring
                                   tulip, croakas, and tiger-lilly.

                                                    Summer
                                   sunscreen, towel, and ocean.

                                                        Fall
rakes and leaves in constant motion.

                                   Each season a diffrent time,
together they change, no reason or rhyme.

When summer's over fall comes into play,
the next thing you know, it's a snow day.

Finally the snow starts to melt,
a change in temperature is soon felt.

The spring is nice,no terrible heat.

Soon you'll see, flip-flops on tan feet.

L Is For Liberty

L is for liberty,
                                        like the statue.

Adams, Revere, and Hancock got us here,
                                     just to name a few.

                                Each person a diffrent view,
one reason or rhyme doesn't always ring true.

No matter what we've done or will do,
the ocean will forever remain blue.

If we'd lost and they'd won,
appearing each morning would still be the sun.

                                 Right now, the score......

Britain is losing zero to one.

Tide

Some people view it as a loss,
                    others call it God's gain.

I believe she is going home,
to rejoice and be with her family again.

A beautiful seashell thriving in the sand,
is now going out with the tide.

        Her parents are beckoning,
calling her home, their wishes she will abide.

Writing Rhymes

For her writing is writing.

                                  For her words come easily,
                                          like breathing or blinking, naturally.

                                  Sometimes while doing chores,
words and stanzas come flying at her.

                                  Sometimes like a wave,
                                           the words wash over her.

                                   Like a dream,
lines and stanzas make shows in her head.

                                  Like clothing,
words seem to wrap around her, keeping her warm.

                                  We love poetry,
her and me, me and her, her and I.

Poetry makes me her and her me,
                                                               we, together, write poetry.

Freedom Is Right

Freedom is right,
                                    whether you're jewish or hispanic.

                                 Do you think races mattered,
during the sinking of the titanic?

                                  Why should races matter,
at the park or at school?

                                   Should races matter,
                                             during a game of ball?

                                                     NO!

                              Races shouldn't matter,
                                        never, at all!

So when your at the park,
                                           or in the school hall.

                               Races shouldn't matter,
                                            never at all!

Be Yourself

The rising sun,
                                               the falling stars.

                                    Should not define,
                                                       who we are.

                                    The things we wish for,
                                                       the dreams we dream.

                                     We only do,
                                             what we deem.

                                     We should not be influenced,
                                                                       by others choices.

                                      We can make decisions,
                                                         we should use our voices.

                                       Do not be afraid,
                                                  to stand up tall.

                                       You have unique qualities,
                                                                      love them all.
