The Worth of Love

Love hurts
I won’t tell you otherwise
it would then be a lie
a darkness so profound
an animal so notorious
fracturing our very soul with it’s transgressions
like an addiction on speed for those who dare
choosing the ones worthy of its name
a flawed proposition with loopholes cunningly concealed
behind what we assume as perfection
We fail perhaps to see what truly lies within
our only crime being who we are
a mass of flesh and blood vulnerable in its entirety
glorified by love itself and shattered by it’s ultimate truth
life bewilders us when we least imagine
the pain even greater than it could be
expectations zero to none
does it then turn out to be an experience inconceivable
and when at the very end of the tunnel
we look back and wonder whether all of it was worth it
Love smiles benevolent and whispers
You are worthy if You only believe!

She

SHE stood by your door quiescent!
the look in her eyes told your story
the damage caused will always linger it said
Did you find contentment when you inflicted the pain
Were you at peace when you waged the war
You, a mere winner showing her the rightful place
or did she mean nothing to you so you wished her away
like a dream that never happened or better yet
a nightmare you so eloquently portrayed her as
Did you not see her through all that she was
behind a facade of a person that she put forth this world
She who stood against time itself for you to still believe
Were you truly convinced that life is a happily ever after
where emotions are of a certain kind and people are tolerant
where there is no place for reality to clear misapprehensions
of a world you think will always be obliged
Could the blame justify your offence
concealing it away discreetly like it never existed
A clean slate for you to start all over again
Whatever the deed the fact still remains that you believe your truth
that there will never be two sides of a story and no matter what the reality
SHE remains to be judged alone!
