Easter Part 1: X Marks the Spot

X marks the spot, the darkest stain, when man slew God, born King to reign.

No other blood could pay the debt, so lamb hung punctured while mother wept.

X marks the spot, where on deaths best day, life seemed to lose, hope fade to grey.

But it is finished, all heard Him sigh, was no resignation, but victor's cry!

Death defeated by its own sword, slain by love, by Son for world.

X marks the spot, I lost my sin, nailed with my Saviour, interred within.

With Him was burried, in Him I rise, no more my sin offends Gods eyes.

X marks the spot of gospel story, His flesh, His blood, his risen glory.

So until He comes from realms above, we'll take this feast, proclaim His love.

Easter Part 2: Before Son Rise

Before Son Rise

I really thought He was the One
The King of Jews, our Kingdom come.
Its like he knew God’s plan for me, to walk, in peace, eternally

From shadows did he call us forth but now they’re cloaks of dread,
Horror forms in silent screams, heard only by the dead.

Stunned in an empty moment, no north no south no plan
Just impossible sorrow, he was, I thought the man!

Today our king hangs punctured, his death turned day to night
Why leave me in this darkness, could not the earthquakes might...
a wee crack to take me under, and seal my fruitless plight?

I really thought he was the One
The signs were there to see
He touched my heart, forgave my sin, what man could set me free?
Did I dream him calm the storm, or on the water walk?
Did he not feed five thousand or was that just gossip talk?
How many times did he say, his life ‘already given,
handed over to evil men who missed the point of heaven.
They searched the scriptures day and night yet failed to see the plan:
that all of heaven and natures sings he is the Great I AM.
