Different

I'm not weak.
Tears don't mean anything.
Just because you think you know me,
You call me your crybaby,
But I'm not.
I am strong.
I am just as capable as you.
I am not naive.
I choose to trust.
It is a conscious decision to hope for the better
In this world where people hate.
I chose this,
To be vulnerable.
You know I wear my heart on my sleeve, but you don't know I'm the one who ripped it out of my chest to put it there,
In the open,
Where it hurts.
And no one acknowledges my bravery,
Because it's seen as a weakness in this world
Where people have to hide.
Are you really better than me,
Because you cover up your true self while I don't care who knows my life story?
That they hurt me with their words,
That I'm happy, or I'm sorry?
I am not pretending.
That what other people think doesn't matter to me,
But their views don't change mine.
I know what I want in life, and I don't care if I stand out by not fitting in.
I don't need to belong, to feel good about myself.
I am not willing to comprise my sincerity
By living the lies of society,
Lacking practicality.
I'm different.
I'm tired of this.
No more hiding,
stand up,
and change things.

Remember Us

Remember us
as we lie
Beneath the soil
Beneath the sky.

Remember us
All those who died
Leaving behind their children and wives.

Remember us
And where we stayed
in the trenches where freedom was made
Bullets flying
Many lives payed.

Remember us
And how we sought
To end the war
So the feircer we fought.

Remember us
As we lie
Beneath the soil.

Beneath the sky.

White

White, like ice
still burns like fire
How beautiful it seems,
The flower bleeding poison

White Calla trumpets
Veratrum’s snowy star
Lacy mountain laurel
Bloodroot’s sweet slumber

Snow is white
White like so many
delicate blossoms
bringing untimely death

Death cold as the deepest winter
Pale, mimicking the ghostly petals
dipped in the white stain
of angel’s feathers

Sweet white slumber
soundless, still
just like the soft, innocent
bringer of death

Wrapped in frosted gowns
made of lethal fabric
Beautiful silence
The flower bleeding poison

Dandelion Lies

I cannot see the skies
Through your dandelion lies
You're spreading them quick as a wildfire

Those dandelion seeds
They float through the breeze
And where they land, the pile grows higher

Tell me please, can't you see
How there's no place for me
In amongst the lies you've spread around

If you want me to stay
Please clear them away
So I stand on the steady ground

Be quick, be aware
Pluck them out of the air
To give me some room for breathing

You cannot keep lies
In these overfilled skies
If you're the person I am to believe in

Hamelin

Before you read further, please be aware,
you should read that sign right over there.
This plain wooden sign,
With words painted Red.
You best read it,
or you'll soon be dead.
DRAGON COUNTRY,
it says on the front.
(A dragon's one creature you shouldn't confront.)
The sign is all crooked,
Charred, scratched, and well done.
(Come on, hurry up you tiny ones, run.)
the sound of my pipe, urges them on,
They're no longer laughing, or dancing along.
All the children, I'd taken away.
because of the governor's  actions that day.
here I'll release them, and here they will stay.
My powerful winged friends are all hungry, they say.
This is how I'll make that  town pay.
