Love

Love is inevitable,
Like it or not.
Don’t always connect it with a person;
Objects, pets, you name it.
It can be felt.

Misinterpret love,
Everyone does it.
The younger generations,
Think it is something, it’s not.
Read messages.
Flirting with a “Hey, what’s up?”
Hang out for a couple of hours.
At night.
Oh don’t you dare bring up hanging out during the day.
After a month, you ‘love’ them.
Sorry if I hurt your feelings,
But us humans are stupid;
When it comes to love.
We think it is wanting someone,
After they break our heart.
That’s not love,
Love is not suppose to be destruction.

We find love in our homes.
Our parents and friends.
Hopeless romantics believe,
It should be like the movies and books.
Don’t ever shame yourself for being one.
Means you know what you want,
And most importantly what you deserve.
Scream to your top of your lungs for love.
Love is not something that is supposed to be quiet.
It should explode like an erupting volcano.
We claim we fall in love at times,
And then it doesn’t work out.
But don’t beat love down.
It is just building ourselves up for the big one.

Real love,
Everyone will have it.
Won’t get sick of it.
Will be everything at once.
Like cold water splashing you in the face,
Telling you it’s time to wake up.
You fight for it.
Always and forever.
Supporting, trusting, you name it.
Actual dates and nice gestures.
Yes, you will get annoyed.
Face it, we need our own space.
We have lives, and things always occur.
At the end of the day,
You come home together,
Like a key entering it’s matching lock.

He once asked me,
“Why do you love roses so much, when they make you bleed by the touch?”
I was glad he asked me this question.
“Because the thorns on the rose remind me that there will be struggles in our life together, but I don’t care because i will still love you.”

To the Young Boys

Just because I’m a girl, doesn’t mean I’m weak and unheard.
I’ll break this down from ten to zero, so you can clearly wrap this around your head.
Just because I’m a girl, doesn’t mean I get to be stomped on.

Hear me,
Hear my voice and pain.

----------------------

At ten, It was the tenth month of the year and you told me you loved me.
At nine, I was on a high from your words.
At eight we were alone for the first time together.
At seven, I knew I wasn’t ready.
At six, your hands went up my shirt.
And at six, I didn’t even realize your other was trying to undo my pants.
At five, I pushed you off.
At four, I thought you would apologize.
Instead at three, you walked out.
At two, I almost ran after you.
And at one, I realized one thing.
Your actions and words never matched up.
I was so high on lust from your words,
That I didn’t realize until zero,
When the time ran out,
That I am only looked at by men to get carved into.

------------------------

Just because I’m a girl, doesn’t mean you can break into my house.
Just because I’m a girl, doesn’t mean you can hold back my voice.
Just because I’m a girl, doesn’t mean I can’t fight back.
Just because I’m a girl, doesn’t mean you can’t stand by me to help others.
