I cry
But my tears make people die
So many people hate me
But I do not know why.
Because all people do is make me cry
Using the thing they hate most.
To stop someone from dying
They make me cry
A pool beneath me
Of all of my tears.
Because so many people hold me
Then make me cry

Why do we read?
Isn’t reading just saying words on pages.
Why read while you can Snapchat, or talk behind someone’s back
Yes, why not destroy someone’s self esteem?
Making people feel like they are nothing.
Books can’t call someone, or text, or Snapchat.
Yet we can find confirmation in these words on pages.
These pages with no life,
Can breathe life into us
Giving a friend to those with no friends.
Because a book cannot judge you
It can’t tell you that your clothes are ugly.
Or that you are not cool or hip like me.
Yet some people cannot read.
Those who need it the most.
Those who think that they are nothing.
Those who have no self esteem.
Those who need a friend.
Yet they don’t know that a friend is waiting for them to pick them up.
And read.
Books inspire people.
Books inspire people to live.
Because even though that person might get bullied.
Or harassed.
They know that a book, no a friend, is waiting to get picked up again.

What is love
Is it that feeling that you get when you look at a certain girl
Or maybe it is the want to take care of something
Or maybe that feeling that you are willing to die to keep that person safe.
But why do we love
There is so much to love about love
Kissing
Hugging
Holding hands
Heart breaks
Yes why do we love
Why do we love, knowing that it won’t last forever
Why do we love, knowing about the fight they lay ahead.
Yet love makes us feel needed
It makes us complete
So I ask
What is love?

Words of remembrance
Last goodbyes
More people cry

Moving
Losing

New school
New friends
New beginning

People look at me
They feel hope
They salute me
As I wave to them in sky
Yet so many people burn me.
They hate me
They try to bring me down from the sky.
But I am strong.
And as long as someone believes in me
I will continue to wave in the sky
I believe in something
I believe for freedom and justice for all
Because I will break their shackles.
Then wave to them in the sky
