Revenge

Revenge is one thing that we human beings thrive on,
one of the few subject areas that we do so well on.
We live for the saying one good turn deserves another
and do unto others as you'd have them do unto you.
We figure,
if someone hurts you, it's only fair
that you hurt them back and twice as hard too.

They make you sad,
forgetting the fact misery
loves company,
we figure; why go down alone
when you're so eager to come with me?

What kind of frenemy would I be,
if I didn't make your dreams come true?
make you see what it's like,
to go through what I went through.

Revenge is sweet,
we human beings feel a joy getting even,
a sense of accomplishment
they're no longer better than us,
if it comes with a punishment
we're willing to be punished,
why? Well we've convinced ourselves-
That it's absolutely worth it.

Argument

We argued, and said the cruelest things,
We knew the words that would hurt the most,
I’m sure neither of us meant it,
But it’s already been said.
All we can do is ask for forgiveness,
And hope the other accepts it.
In the heat of the moment,
We became so cold,
When we both know,
We’re each other’s world.
If we take a breather,
before we talk to each other,
Maybe this can change,
When the anger subsides,
Our love will bloom again.

Daddy's Little Girl

He was her world,
She was daddy's little girl,
All she had was him since momma died,
She lost a mother, he lost a wife.

He spoiled her in all ways he could,
And made it his point of duty: ensuring she understood;
You can't have everything you want,
And a shot at education: never pass up the chance.

He loved her with all his heart and never left it unsaid;
He knew how badly she needed to know someone cared.
She was so young when momma died,
But daddy filled the empty space in her life.
He was her rock, she was his,
They were each others will to live.

It was a tragic moment that night daddy died,
Now she's lost the only family she had.
She'd just gotten over losing her mother
And now she's lost her father,
Her hearts broken in pieces again
And just when she'd finished piecing it back together.
