The End of Earth

Eyes widen, breathing labored, tears slipping down her face
As the last petal falls
They have lost
The ever going war against humanity
The world will fall, along with all life
Humans and nature alike
Separated, though we are all the same
And now she takes her final breath
Due to the greed and lust of the human race
But they will realize they have ripped the rug from under themselves
And doomed themselves to eternal damnation

Sonnet 2

It beckons to you then it consumes you
worse than any figure of imagination
it’s enough turn the happiest person blue
causes disruption in the greatest nation
a mental planet made from kryptonite
will cause an endless night to be unfurled
consuming the good, kind, brave, bold, and bright
it will cause the destruction of the world
what is this thing that makes you insecure
the most destructive thing in the world, fear

Sonnet 1

Puppies kitties hamsters birds and bunnies
All give us a reason to celebrate
all animals are all such sweet honeys
happiness and joy is what pets radiate
Their gigantic melancholy eyes
this makes animals so hard to resist
they are so cute that you just want to cry
but as good owner you have to insist
we all want pets no matter what it takes
whether it be birds cats or rattlesnakes

Lament of the Aristos Akhaio

His fragile frame spills scarlet still warmed by the fervency of his love
Love never to be betrayed further
Stolen from me in his naive pursuit of a modus vivendi
Between my alcove in his heart and his virtuous morality

We spoke so often of immortality
Of eternal legacies of splendor
While your lulling warmth obscured its austere nature
But now my hands are stained with carmine life
And my aureate tresses are dull with guilt

I am Aristos Akhaio, the best of men
yet i pale in the face of your magnificence
Doomed to a fleeting hope for mortal life and glory
When you were all I ever truly longed for

Even in death you watch me
Not in reverence but adoration
Your shrouded figure etched into my recollection
But sadistically lost to me forevermore

Glory befits the strong
Or so i once heard
But I never sought glory of any name but yours
Broken down into 3 syllables sobbed into the air
You were never your fathers' glory but to me you are everything
My only life, my only legacy, my only love
And my strength was stolen by the whisper of your broken breath

2020

Lessons taught and yet to teach
Unfurl themselves from your unknown depths
Power and promise, false for each
To prove corruption with every breath
Alone, the world is blind

A push to prove our selfish ways
A push to see the truth
The people try to avert their gaze
Misfortune exists to improve
A lesson staked with life

Be appreciative...It could be worse
A new phrase engraved in my mind
My family, my friends, in love I’m immersed
My perspective was altered, by design
How strange a new normal

My want for change ever increases
Never more have my close ones been so appreciated
Taken for granted, my old normal left
And from my hopes, my life deviated
For good or not, that’s yet to be seen

The Price

With every tear, there's a laugh
With every war, there's a celebration
With every life, there's a death
All have consequences
Good or bad
Its your choice
But beware
The price may be too great.

Life Anew

Whistling through the air
Without a care
Flying with the breeze
Always at ease
Sliding and gliding
But the wind is subsiding
Dropping you at a high velocity
Shaken and jolted with unknown ferocity
Dropping onto the cold hard ground
To the earth you are forever bound
The comfort of the wind never returns
But you have other concerns
Death is breathing down your neck
Making you a nervous wreck
Soon you fade into your mother
And feed the life of another
Reborn into the being
New sights, you are seeing
The sky so blue
You wish to view
Drifting and lifting into the miraculous space
Twirling and swirling at your own pace
When suddenly it happens
The mothers grip on you slackens
And once again
You glide and slide past women and men
Free of the burden that once controlled you
Free in your own heaven , The vast blue

Drifting

Clinging to life
Praying unheard prayers
Fearful of what lies beyond
Whether it be hell or heaven
But accepting of the truth
Letting the burden of life slip away
Freedom, flying, bonds released
Free as a snowflake free falling
Savor it, you think
All good things must come to an end, you think
But it never stops, just flying
Free from wants and desires
This is what true happiness feels like, you think
As, you drift you began to feel lonely
Longing for someone to love you.
Then she arrives
Confused, afraid
Then you see the bliss cross her face
You go to her and she looks at you
Your loneliness dissolves
and you exist eternally alongside each other.

Crushed

Pushed to the edge
Crushed to the core
Shattered soul
Chained down
Easy escape

The Oceans Call

The ocean's call washed me away
Today, tomorrow, and yesterday
The Earth and Sky all look away
For in the sea I choose to lay
And all the people shout and pray
But I've been yearning for this day
For the underwater is where I play
