Eko

OGUNLABI OLAJIDE YUSUF-NativePen 029
EKO @50
TIME OF THOUGHT:LOSS
DATE OF THOUGHT:2015
A damsel was born decades ago
Her name is EKO
Eko Ile Ogbon
She is the most sought after amongst other
The eyes of the Southwest states
The favourite of her mother Country Nigeria
The choice of all
Her northern and eastern arms is shared by the Gateway state (Ogun State)
Adun ba'rin ma to'si
Her western arms is shared with Republic of Benin
Even her Southern arms lies the Atlantic Ocean
Thanks to the ancient settlers of Eko the CENTER OF EXCELLENCE
The Aworis I salute thee "Kitigbe o" ? "O gbe ire"
Beckone on them for varieties of sea fishes; Obokun, Epiya............
Eko Akete
The home to deities of fortune and wealth
Eko Ile Aje
The first ever style can be found within her walls
Won kere si nonba Eko
Eko is ever radiant as the sun and the star
Her fortunes makes her markets rival to none;
Do you need food spices? Danfo knows the route to Oyingbo
Ladipo market is home to all automobile parts you ever think of
Your electronics solution lies in Alaba market
Attires of many colours that makes Eko the home of fashion is there in Balogun market
No wonder the mamooth population of different tribes
Igbo kwenu, your inmense investment cannot be ignored
Yaya dei,
Ara o le bi? Ase jere o
Eko a home to a number of warring ethnic group
To whom much is taken
Much is to be given
Now is the right time to celebrate her (Eko)
Let all her suitor gather round
Her celebration is on
Eko is just 50years, but her riches makes one think she's older than metuselat
If you have not been to Eko,it is certain you dont know Eyo
Her fortune spirit beckones on all
Eko is a friend of all, foe to none
Eko gbole o gbo'le
Eko embodies the economic future of Africa
"Eko o ni baje o" O baje ti"

I won't drop my pen, so I can write many more without saying Kabiosi o Oba Rilwan Akiolu 1. Also more grease to your elbow, your excellency Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
Gbogbo Eko aku odun aku iyedun ooo

God Bless Lagos State. God bless Nigeria . God bless Africa.

Dear Friend

OGUNLABI OLAJIDE YUSUF- NativePen
   TOPIC:DEAR FRIEND
  TIME OF THOUGHT-02:18PM
  DATE OF THOUGHT:29:11:2011

Your worth is more than a precious stone
So cute, dependable, clever and unavoidable
Having you around me makes my being meaningful
You are such a friend indeed
As grasses to the open field
As fishes to the oceans
And butterflies to the flowers
So is your presence in my life
You in my life
Brings flavor of millions fragnance
That charms my fears
And radite my countenance
At all seasons of life
If I were to choose you and attires of many colours
I would rather go for you
You worth more than riches and gold
Irrespective of my mood
You are my darling friend
Right in my hands
I will hold and held unto you
With all loyalty and sincerity
I will draw you close to my heart always
Be rest assured that my shoulder would not grow thorns when you are in distress.

Butterfly

BUTTERFLY
Come around
For the darkness has vanished away
Come quickly around
For the barrier has finally gone

What a relief
The morning is here
I have open up my petals
Filled with nectars of your choice

The ever flowing juice I have in stock
Withoout you ,I may not be known
Your frequent visit help my growth
Oh butterfly come around

Once the day break
I will open up for you
Neither sun nor rainfall
Would restrain me from welcoming you

I always await you
Please do not tarry
So I wont worry
And be sorry.

When the Deed Is Done

WHEN THE DEED IS DONE
TIME OF THOUGHT: LOST
DATE OF THOUGHT: 21/11/2010
OGUNLABI OLAJIDE YUSUF- Nativepen

Was anyone around then?
Was there no one to caution?
When the deed is been done
Was there a person, was there no one?

I wonder where?
All the wise one have gone to
When the deed was done

When was the deed done?
Was it done at night?
Was it in the morning?
Or broad noon day?
I still wonder when

I wonder if the moon was aware
And the glowing star
When all was done

Deep in the flesh it has passed
Before we realised
Down in the bone it has penetrated
What a pity
Oh! the deed has been done

What a decay
What a ruin
Hmm, who are to pay

What can we say?
When the keepers
Were found sleeping
What else can we say?
When they are the say

That heaven will fall
Is not one's problem
All of us will pay

What can we say then?
When the wise men are ignored
When the eyes of the watcher
Have been trampled on
And the strength of the strong ones
Have been quenched with threat

The deed is fast spread
The impact kills gradually
Yet solution is yet known

The deed has been done
Remedy! Remedy!Remedy!
We all cry for
Restoration ! Restoration!
Our land cries for

Death

OGUNLABI OLAJIDE YUSUF-NativePen
DEATH
TIME OF THOUGHT:LOST
DATE OF THOUGHT:LOST
Umm………………………..
The end of mens sojourn
An August visitor
A must that all living dislike
Is there any armour against it?
A thief that strike unnoticed
A destroyer
A snatcher;
He snatches the forgotten
The free born
The most sought after
Even the loved ones are not left out
He snatches the kings maker
The princes and the princess
The queens are not excluded
Not to talk of the kings
He is a cruel servant
He is no respecter of anyone
So ruthless
The offer of gold, brass, and bronze
He rejects
The best attire in style never freak him
What a cruel you are
A ticket to the judgement hall
The leverage amongst all
He is not a friend of all classes;
Pauper, slave and the wealthy
Oh death
The breaker of the umbreakable bond.

Independence

OGUNLABI OLAJIDE - NativePen
INDEPENDENCE
TIME OF THOUGHT: 01:15AM
DATE OF THOUGHT: 22/03/2010

Oh! Oh! Oh!
Our soul cries
The thought of 'it' strucked us all
We are indeed thirsty for freedom
We compromised not
And we fought it all

Whilst other folks were feasting
Our thoughts are always of freedom
Freedom from here to other side

Through oneness of our souls
We payed the price at once
Do not be oblivious being
For our shadows are here
To hunt all enemies of our sacrifices
Day after day

Oh! let there be independence
Oh! let there be freedom
Our splased blood on the battle front cries

You have barter and trade
All we fought for
With our hot-bitter sweat
Our sweat shall avenge
Vengeance on all enemies of freedom
Vengeance we call for

Should you forget?
Do you want to go back to slavery?
Oh! you dont want to

Our dearly father sacrificed all
Mama was not scared
Even our dearly brother went away in the fight
And the helpless sister of ours is no more
Do remember
Our shadow are still here

Let there be..................
Don't enslave yourselves
Freedom is honey
Honey is sweet
And, the bee that gives honey equally stings.

Dear Mother

OGUNLABI OLAJIDE YUSUF-Nativepen 014
DEAR MOTHER
TIME OF THOUGHT:07:25PM
DATE OF THOUGHT:10:04:2011

How can I tell it all
On your back lies the comfort I desire
And the sweet warmth of your arms at all time

From you I sucked the courage I needed to move on
Your affection is of no degree
And in your eyes I see my strength

Mother, your presence is my pride
Your voice alleviates my fears
No doubt for your love

Surely mother, I will always love you
The vigil kept at my cranny is ever cherished
You are my heaven on earth.

Blood

OGUNLABI OLAJIDE YUSUF-NativePen 017
BLOOD
TIME OF THOUGHT:LOSS
DATE OF THOUGHT:LOSS

It's a life
It's precious than gold
The primary part of life
Without it, no being

Something harder than mustard seed
Substance thicker than water
It attracts more than magnet
Is a cherish substance

An umbreakable cord
That connect all;
The child, mother and father
A convenant seal

A material for irreversible convenant
Like the on the of cross of calvary
Our best ever redeemers gift on the cross
It is a cherish stuff

Don't toil with it
Cherish it
Blood is sacred, don't drink it
Don't shed it

Keep it
Don't spill the innocent blood
There is a power embeded in it
Don't let it splashed

Let there be peace in all corners of our land.
In pieces we can't live in peace
Let us see ourselves as brothers
So we have an enviable haven.

Prison Wall

OGUNLABI OLAJIDE YUSUF-NativePen 004
PRISON WALL
TIME OF THOUGHT:3:00PM
DATE OF THOUGHT:24:12:2008

Tall wall surround me
Several attempt seems impossible
It’s just too tall to climb

Ever pointed gun at the walls
By the men in uniform
Oh all eyes on me
Oh when will I see the walls behind

I have spent my days dreaming
None of these in the least
Oh sweet home I crave for

When will I have it back?
The God given choice of life
Nothing is more parampount to it
My thought is always of home.

Uniform all through days
My voice comes from no where
But behind a shut iron door with its wall like the tower of babel

My sunlight for each day strugles through a rat hole window
Yet i now cherished the beauties of the night
While I now see it faintly
Oh freedom my thirst

If possible
I would turne the hand of the seasons
For I know the days is fast approaching

The day I will step into the buzzling world
The real world
No matter my offence
I will one day go a free man.

I know a king is about to reign
I shall obtain His favour
And I shall be freed.
