A Couple Sharing a Special Time

A Couple Sharing a Special Time
Hibiscus herbal tea with honey
Served with homemade sugar cookies
The woman anticipated her special friend.
Putting on the kettle with filtered water
Setting the cookies in oven.
She timed it perfectly.
As he came through the door way.
He offered to help and collected the teabags, cups, spoons and honey
From the cabinet.
Placing them on the small dining table.
The kettle's whistle made a low sound.
The ovens timer went off.
Everything was done.
He had placed the Hibiscus teabags into each cup.
She gracefully poured the hot water in them.
Placing two small saucers over each cup to
Let the tea seep.
After a few mins he took the honey placing
Removing each saucer putting some honey
Into each cup.
The man and woman stirring, slowly sipping a delicious brew.
Looking intently in each other's eyes.
Placing one of their hands on the table.
As he slowly touched her hand.
Cookies munched on.
Hot calming Hibiscus tea in them.
A time of intimacy
Where silence hits the hearts.
When hearts meet no words have to be shared.
Just a mutual understanding and emotions that are set on the same page.

Crazy Dream

A green uniform,
with a surname on left pocket,
US Army insignia on right
wearing black boots.
An older man who has a clean-shaven face
except for his glances with his blue eyes,
flickering in the night.
I caress his jaw with my tiny hand,
loving the feel of his smooth skin.
French kisses with mouths open,
tongues dancing, swirling onto one another.
Yes, I am in love
I want his strong arms to,
embrace this lonely body.
A body that needs so much passion
I can not longer ask for love--
because I'm afraid he will reject me
and my heart will be shattered in tiny fragments.
But yes I am still in love.
What if he rejected me?
Would I tear out my heart and
toss it in the gutter for anyone to walk over?

Pipe Dream

But I ripped them up,
Thinking my work was so incomplete, so inadequate.
I wonder if I am living in a pipe dream.
But since I was a little girl growing up in New York,
Always wanted to be a writer or poet.
Submitting creative works to magazines,
Only with the long envelopes coming back.
Rejection with a short note: "We're sorry
we can't use your work"
Me crying over dad's waiting shoulders.
He was always there.
He and my sister always wanted
me to keep the work alive.
But I'm a frustrated person
And tore up everything that I wrote.
Am I living in a pipe dream?

Shattered

My heart lies so heavy as I
Grasp for my lover who
Isn't with me.
We are no longer on the same page.
I long with his bear hugs
I long for his deep passionate french kisses
Where tongues dance on a floor
I swoon in his arms
Why did he leave me so suddenly?
No note, no text, no call, no email
Nothing but an emptiness
And shattered heart
Tears that continually flow
Does he ever bother thinking of me?
Was I a nuisance to him?
I need some sort of closure
To get over this..
But he doesn't even care or bother with
my shattered heart.
Have a few pictures of him
And two voicemails
His quiet voice
And at the end of each message
He said I love you!
Did he really know what love was all about?
Every time I listen to the messages, tears start to flow.
I weep uncontrollably
Will someone gather me in their arms
With my tears flowing on their shoulders.
How can one mend a shattered heart
It was torn from my chest cavity
Thrown into the street
Where people could stomp on it.
