Describe Him

His Feet are kind of rough and a tad bit sore
Been standing on God’s promises since his feet hit the floor
His Knees are worn out but he stands really tall
But Daily prayer is needed winter, summer, spring, and fall
His Chest sticks out , seeming really proud.
But I can tell that he’s humble and never has to speak loud
His Arms so strong, no signs of weakness, not even a trace
I can imagine how secure I would be, wrapped in his embrace
His Hands not so soft from laboring on his land
You can just tell he has a tight grip on to God’s unchanging hand
His Eyes are so beautiful and always towards the sky
Always doing more than expected not just enough to get by
In addition to all of the magnifying traits, he has another that electrifies your soul.
An enormous, spectacular HEART all made of Gold.

The Day After

Half-eaten cookies and non-fat milk
Me still in my PJs all made of silk

Boxes and bows still lay in the floor
Send dad for batteries to the local store

Fatigue children from playing all day
Scattered toys in the hall way

Pick up the toys and put them in place
Pick up the wrapping, bows and lace

The house is now clean and the day draws near
Glad that Christmas comes but once a year

Then we repeat this day again tomorrow
Still filled with much joy and very little sorrow

Why Not

Why not choose to be the leader, the queen or the king
Why not choose to dance, to pray nor to sing
Why not choose to be the first to love with all your heart
Why not choose to work hard from the very start
Why not choose to always give it your All
Why not choose to walk and stand like you’re 10 feet tall
Why not stand for what you know is right
Why not suffer through the struggle to win the fight
Is it because of fear that we avoid our dreams
Missing out on life not even trying to redeem
Did you know we are here to inherit the earth
Then WHY would you choose less than your worth?
