My Fondest Memory

I remember
The smell of hay and apples on his breath
The warm rough touch of his red mane against my skin
I remember
Touching his soft brown fur
And looking into big brown eyes
I remember
The neigh he only had for me
And his joyous dance when he saw me enter the barn
I remember
The day it was all taken away
I remember
The last hug goodbye
And the last whisper I love you
As i had to let him go
I remember it all

I'M From

I’m from a small busy town
I’m from the roads leading nowhere
I’m from the cornfields and wheat farms

I’m from a small city
I’m from a good home with all i need
I’m from a family who loved
And had friends who cared
But now
I’m from a state unknown
I’m from a life i don’t know
I’m from a one person home
Its empty walls echo my calls
I’m from a torn family it's love long gone
And with friends who's care has long run out

Christmas

Christmastime is here
the time Santa elves come out and cheer
They load up Santa's old sleigh with toys and goodies for this year
Sleigh bells jingle from the reindeer's gear as the elves get ready the sleigh
Jolly old Santa Claus is near
as the night of Christmas Eve draws close
Santa lets out a ho ho
Merry Christmas to all

Power of Words and Silence

There is a power in words and there is power in silence
Words are loud and let you be heard
While silence people are unsure
Words vibrate through the air and bounce through the walls
Silence has no sound just muted calls
People turn when they hear a word not knowing what will be learned
But for silence people ignore for nothing cannot and will not be heard
Both words and silence can save a life or end one
They can keep you out of trouble when it comes knocking at your door
There is a power in words and a power in silence
But which one is stronger and in what situation?
