Inside-Out

The origami nooks and folds
of thoughts pushed down inside,
pockets deep and intricate
where mazes often hide,
and grow,
and bend,
and twist,
and crease,
and wait upon the day
when all the things we never
tell ourselves come out to play.

Yesterday

Yes, it was yesterday that i laughed, but today i cry.
Yesterday i was a woman with confidence,
Today i bury my face and hide.
Yesterday i was filled with hope and dreams,
Today i am overtaken with guild and doubt.
So-that was yesterday you may say, and today is another day.
you, may never understand the damage done by one day
but trust me---
Yesterday i laughed
Today i cry
Tomorrow-- i fear.

Another Year

A year goes by
A year again
I don't know where I've been
A daily struggle to wake and breathe
An anger b uilds and poisons seethe
A troubled heart,
A jumbled mind
Things were said things were done unkind
Where to go?
What to do?
Another year turns into two.

Presbyopia

The eye
defects first
or is the world
which takes the first step
backwards?
no matter
those blurred numerals
on the page
aree tracks
to be followed
the rest of the way
               alone.

Destroyed

A child.
An innocent child I once was.
Before he crumpled my body
and destroyed my child like faith,
in all things beautiful, warm and safe.
away went the light, darkness invaded.
it devoured me, spreading like a vicious disease.
I no longer wanted to live.
No longer wanted to be,
Anything.

Mean Faces of Love

Love has two faces
This I surely know
Which one I see today
I don't rightly know.

At times it is so beautiful
Makes me feel complete
Other times it can be vicious,
I often times get beat.

Wouldn't it be wonderful
If love would never go
To that dark dangerous place,
A place I do dread.

Settle for the happy times,
They are far and few
I must wake up and leave this man
While alive, and still in view.

Stolen

In my mind I see
Intertwined in rhapsody
You & Me
What used to be
Through my eyes
All I see is a bitter reality
Desire of my heart
Stolen from me
My anxious soul has no rest
for my heart failed the one true test.

There Are Poems

there are poems
that are never written,
that simply move across
       the mind
like sky writing
on a still day.
slowly the first word
drifts west,
the last letters dissolve
on the tounge
and what is left
is the pure blue
of in sight, without a cloud
            of comfort.

Unknown

If you see not my face
Hear not my voice
Feel not my touch
Would you recognize me?

What you think you know as me
Fitting nicely into your narrow perception
Is but only one small part of who I am

Boundaries so confusing
Can never allow me to enter
Dare to step out of your protective shell
Dare to see all of me
Not a posibility
I must walk away
You will not notice my absence
As you really never knew me at all.
