A Dark Reflection

A Dark Reflection

We are all hunters masked by Usernames and Handles
We capture the moments that eventually become rambles,
In our history of past and prehistoric posts that puncture
We yearn for likes and loves this desperate hunger,

Snap, Send, Screenshot,
Snap, Screenshot, Send,

We Filter others criticism and replace with illusions
Of the authenticity for that is pure delusion,
We change too much for others and our minds have altered
Our lack of consistency has been far too relevant,

Repost, Retweet, Republish,
Retweet, Republish, Repost,

The fragment of life caught in a picture is like a pet
We use it for laughter and love our needs are completely met,
We conceive Stories made of hopeful bliss
Alone we are sucked of joy like a dementors kiss,

Unfollow, Unfriend, Block,
Unfriend, Unfollow, Block,

We streak the social media universe with Hashtags and Vines
Our time deteriorates forever declined,
Although these platforms offer sorrows that are deadly
They also bring joy in a harmonious medley,

Look, Like, Love,
Like, Love, Look,

It connects through light boxes around the earth
Showing us an unimaginable worth,
It links us through the vast and titanic interwebs
It brings light and sight while dejection ebbs,

Friend, Follow, Forget
Friend, Follow, Forget

We fathom the magnitude of what it means to be a friend
We never meet we never eat we just like to play pretend,
Will it ever end
Missing links and broken ties our normal obstruction
Movie dates and walks in the park will help our construction,
We can build a better Story.

I Never Sang For You

There are many days I miss her,
A powerful and unique lady,
What truly deters,
Is why he married again.

I remember back when,
She always wanted to hear my voice.
I was too shy and nervous to begin,
Soon I had the courage but I lost my choice.

She never got to hear me sing,
Never heard a tuneful tone.
It crushed my soul my everything,
Made my heart completely stone.

I wish I would've had the skill,
To sing for this vessel of knowledge.
After she left it went all downhill,
I won't even forget you when I'm in college.

I will always miss your lovely smile,
If I performed for you, it would be worthwhile.
Ma-Maw will remain in my heart,
For I hope to never fall apart.

Auto-Correct

Her notes in her phone auto-corrected to struggling
I always thought of her and it was troubling

Snickering Snow

Snowbound snowflakes sneakily snip and snick the snowy snickering air.

Everything I Do

Everything I do By: Aaron Fletcher

My life is a little strange,
no not like deranged,
I have a passion to please the masses
There is little to explain,
and it's hard to maintain,
I do not want to teach christian classes.

Everything I do,
I will do for you,
Everything I experience will become real,
Now I promise I’m not Crazy,
my thoughts a little hazy,
but you make me feel--

Wonderful, Nothing can stop me,
Powerful, you're the one who sets me free.
To be better than anyone else that I can't be.
You help me believe to be--
Marvelous, rushing to the finish line,
Confident, victory will be mine.
To be better than anyone else that I could be
You make me Believe.

I always examine,
the world around me’s demandin’,
that I have to be a certain way
I want to be better,
there are 3 letters,
That will hopefully make you stay
I just hope it's not cliche
What I’m trying to convey

Everything I do,
I will do for you,
Everything I experience will become real
Now I promise I’m not Crazy
my thoughts a little hazy
but you make me feel---

Wonderful, Nothing can stop me,
Powerful, you’re the one who sets me free.
To be better than anyone else that I can't be.
You help me believe to be
Marvelous, rushing to the finish line, Confident, victory will be mine. To be better than anyone else that I could be You’re the reason why I Believe

So maybe one day you will know what I feel
It's not perfect but too me its ideal

Only In My Dreams

Dreams are my only friends,
I can morph and bend them into anything.
Suddenly a fortress appears and ascends,
To which I am to be made the king!

Columns and spires stretch out across me,
Structure and walls I did not foresee.
It's enormous, enamoring, enclave,
Will help me not need to be saved.

In this sanctuary I admire,
The candescent white gates that inspire.
All my deepest wants and needs,
For it will help my life succeed.

Soon this castle will be debris,
And I will forget its decor.
Surely you will like and agree,
That castles are built in great galore.

The Value of a Name

The lives I impact are numerous
we don't see the ripples of water that rupture other peoples days
even the tiniest action can deteriorate a mountain
We wonder and whisper hypothesis but we forget about how inanimate objects feel
Assuming they don't matter is a like a solecism
except instead of one's grammar they are misguiding in their character
We prick and peel the faux layers of what is right
and decide to consume and assume the our complex little earth doesn't matter anymore

We lose respect for everyday objects forget how they appeared
The wonder and work dispersed executive plans that are created
every crayon, carton, and container as we forget to take care of them
but do we truly forget or is the value of a pair of scissors like a person without health insurance
We can't just buy another person

Our words cost money
Not real numbers
our emotional immune system
Some people's are large banks of water and other's yield shallow and weak desperate for a drop of grace
The plentiful feelings we crave are as fragile as your grandmothers china
Emotional Depression is the same as being poor
In Mind and Spirit that bottles your feelings
of negative money that delays all healing

Everything has a name no matter how big or small we decide and choose and domineer over them all
There is no sense to call a certain object its name for we conformed to how the world wants it to be
Do we not have a choice in words or a choice in what something is
The pressures of society forces us to cope and comply with every alibi they throw like a baseball game with only splitters
a life without change is full of quitters.

Stop

Can't you stop helping me,
I know exactly what I'm doing.
It doesn't have to be great,
But I know you don't agree.
All you ever want is perfection,
All you ever want is flawless,
But that doesn't show my originality.

Crush

Crushed or a crush
I don't know but it's a rush
He sees you smiled and hesitant
Will he ever know the extent
Of what you feel for him
Of what you think you could be
It might be on a whim
It's a possibility

Seeing him sitting there
With personality that flairs
His style is tranquil
And time seemed to be still
Everything I saw made my heart warm
I could see it in his eyes it had my soul transformed
Imagining his hand into mine
Maybe that's what God designed
The only answer was on the tip of my tongue
I guess my words will stay unsung

Desire or be desired
If I said I was both I'd be a liar
He listens and projects
He might be perfect

when your
seeing him sitting there
with his piercings and radiant hair
His smile could cure depression
His words always left an impression
Of something deeper past all perception

Everything he would say
I would soak up day after day
Motivate, exhilarate, invigorating me to dream bigger than before
Inspire, aspire, admiring everything he is speaking for
He opened my mind and explained his conceptions
We walked all the way home and made a new connection
The only thing that I know
is I want him to like me so
Damn much
It torments
My heart
With segments
Of hope that departs
Will he ever like me it would be a start
