Wooly Bear Walk

~~~
                                 Black and brown and furry
                                  Wooly bear is in a hurry
                                  On a many legged walk
                                  To a leaf or grassy stalk
                                 To wherever or what not
                                  Type of its chosen spot
                                 To spin a cocoon and die
                                To be a Tiger Moth and fly
                                             ~   ~ ~
Bad News Kittens
Kittens caper
                                           Crinkle paper
                                          To ruin the news
                                              Wad it up
                                            Bat and cuff
                                            Bite and chew
                                           Strike with claws
                                           Shred with jaws
                                         Rip to smithereens
                                        No newspaper news
                                         Today will be seen
Pomeranian Poem
Turned up nose
Bright bug eyes
Tiny little paws
He looks wise
Triangular ears
Atop his head
His aim is to
Be in my bed
He sure does
Make me grin
My bed is warm
Because of him
Three Little Foxes
Furry red
Fox kits in a
Pile of three
Bringing a smile
To the face of me
Are they sly and
Are they slick?
Are they ready
To tumble and
Rumble and flip?
They look so tame
Just sitting there
I want to run my
Fingers through
Their red hair!!!
Tribute To My Hometown
Went shopping today
 In Montrose, PA
 Saw lots of folks
   I must say
  Knew most of them
 I met along the way
I must once again say
That I like it that way
Five thousand people is
  The total population
   Many seen might
   Just be relation
      Familiar faces met
  Flash smiles as we meet
Hearty hellos how are ya's
  As each other we greet
People from my past
 People of my today
  Small little town
  I like it that way
Dressage
DRESSAGE
~~~~~~~~
I bend to your hands
Of feathery soft light
I dance and prance
To both our delight
Your hands and legs
Guide me guide
Ride me ride
Two together
Entwined
With pride
~~~~
My horse poem for today for riders who have played with this discipline, from a horse's point of view.
The Eye of a Horse
~~~~~~~~~~~
                                         In depth of dark eye
                                         I see a soul in there
                                        Stallion or gelding or
                                        The gentlest of mare

                                        They bend to our will
                                       And give of their heart
                                      They lend us their backs
                                     To become of them a part

                                       Horse and it's rider are
                                       Pure emotional  poetry
                                      Hearts souls and bodies
                                     Combine as one you see?

                                          ~~~~~~~~~~~
Pussy Willows In Spring
Pussy willows are growing
                              By by a creek running free
                              Tiny little tufts of soft fur
                              Are very appealing to me
                                 Wrapped in parkas
                                  Around their chins
                                    Insulated from
                                   The March winds
                                  In the month of April
                                 Leaves will appear again
                                 And Nature's little kittens
                                Will make the children grin
My Pines
MY
                                                     PINES
                                                 TALL TREES
                                           NEEDLED BRANCHES
                                      COLOR OF DARKEST GREEN
                                    WHISPER SOFTLY IN THE WIND
                                   BIRD NESTS NESTING IN BETWEEN
                             PINE ROOTS ANCHOR DEEP IN THE GROUND
                            HOLDING THEM FAST EVEN WHEN THE NORTH
                         WINDS SQUALL MY PINES STILL STAND VERY TALL
                                                        PINES
                                                        TREES
                                                        SMELL
                                                        QUITE
                                                        GOOD
                                                        TO ME
Beautiful Buck
Beautiful Buck
                                       Eyes soft brown
                                      With lashes black
                                        Hanging down
                                       Long whiskers
                                     Twitch on his chin
                                  Tapered muzzle nose
                                    Snorts at the wind
                                   Ears twitching below
                                    An eight point rack
                                      His switching tail
                                     Jerks fro and back
                                 A taste of Nature's elegance
                                  I stare at him and he at me
                                  Then he spins one hundred
                                   And eighty degrees to flee
                                     White tail flag waving
                                     To his strides rhythm
                                      Back into the woods
                                      Last I'll see of him
                                      Beautiful Buck
                                  Thanks for the thrill
                                     I came to watch
                                         Not to kill
