Virtual Cocaine

Something relevant for the current scenario:
Social media addiction.

VIRTUAL COCAINE

The clock on the wall strikes midnight,
I still hold on to my phone very tight,
With lights off I still stare at the screen,
Not realising that my eyes have lost their sheen.

Every morning I get up and forget to pray,
I am more interested in knowing how others start their day,
Some go jogging and some are dropping their kid,
Liking their posts is the only exercise I did!

Driving my car constantly looking at my phone
I never realise I put my life in a danger zone!

Facebook reminds me of my friend s birthday,
Only if I would call him up and say,
I just type "HBD" and think it s done,
Later realising meeting in person would be more fun.

The selfie craze has totally swept me away,
I feel like clicking the perfect one every single day,
I was busy taking pictures to post when I went to "SOLENT"
Later regretting that I had actually not lived the moment.

I feel it s right to ponder and not too late,
Let not the social media decide our fate?
It s good to connect and be in touch with everyone,
Not forgetting we have a life and that too only one,
Let it not trap us in it s addictive domain,
Let s try and overcome this virtual cocaine!!

Pollution

On the way to work today...
Covered by the deadly smog....
Wrote something on pollution..
#scary#

THOUGHT

A thought is making a wave within me
As i see the leaves fall of the tree
A gush of cold wind sends down a shiver
As i walk lonely by the black river!

The gloomy air doesn't let me breathe
Deep inside i feel like a cheat
I had taken for granted mother nature s love
Took care of neither the earth below or the sky above!

I now crave for the fresh meadows and colorful fields
Somewhere lost in this concrete jungle and metallic shields
My water is sour and my food is a slow posion
Covered with a smog i can't even see my horizon!

Let us save whatever is left
Or else there would be a regret
It s time to join hands and fight againt the pollution
For the generations to come let s do this in unison!
