A Litany Alittered With Alliterations

Fashioning the favourable foul,
Cutting the caustic cordial,
Rearing a rabid recall.

Pardon the potion
When blind and blundering
We fathom the favourable foul.

String along the slug
When casually and crazed
We concede the caustic cordial.

Split the sauce
When tardily and turbulently
We receive the rabid recall.

Behold the botheration of the booze!
Jilt the jitters of the jug,
Surrender the stress of the spirits.

Do this in the name
Of the bright, the blue
And the holy camera eye.
Amen.

Not Nonsense

A crab sidewinds
The windowsill
With the Earth
In his hands,
Whilst a mouse
With a red breast
Smiles and gives a wink
To the lizard in the lounge.

Mars is using
The rotary
On 16 and 17
For spittoon practice,
Whilst the Defence
Refuses to move
Her boat from duty
At the pelican on Pall Mall.

Each thought is
Thinking another,
With the wisdom
Of a penguin crossing
The road at a
Zebra crossing;
That be some,
But not a lot!

Stand Smart, Tolerant and Tall

So, as said you sir
the sun did still rise
albeit in a blur
among shaded skies.

Where clouds did gather
at a dunces brainstorm
for a dance and a blather
upon a pseudo platform.

Hustling to heady highs
saturating their misbehaviours
soon they will crystallise
forget their facilitators.

As sure as they will fall
and make foe with the floor
we will stand smart, tolerant and tall
savvy of a shower bows soar.

A spectrum of and for all
a light we can all bat for.

Fallacies of Arrogance

A second of four
a child-to-man maronic
ignored and scanty poor
told only his idle logic

This family career
he could not sanction
then in his yesteryear
so bad became his action

Perfect One just had to quit
Three went underground
Four copped many a clout
Two was never held to account

In later years still stood his stance
for fear and fallacies of arrogance

Books Don'T Kill People, People Do

On the first day I shall give you a book,
A great book.
In return, do not make this book, my book,
The last,
The greatest,
Or the only book.

Consume as many books as you can;
They will not make you fat.
Don’t be faddy;
This will make you too thin of mind.

If you declare my book,
Or any book,
The last,
The greatest,
Or the only book,
You most definitely need more books.

The Cat Lassie and the Potter Sometimes In a Frock

In a loose constrict
In what I am doing here
It occurs to me
A commonality
Between a Cat Lassie
And a Potter sometimes in a Frock.

It must be understood
The different characteristics
Of admire, aspire and inspire.

The inventor of the lavatory
The wheel, the motor engine
The meteorite mother of us all.
All I admire.
I exist, my feet are not sore
And it’s not too shitty anymore.

Ghandi, Mandela.
Wilde and Woolf.
Bowie, Simon but sorry Garfunkel not you.
The list goes on
I admire them all
To their brilliance I aspire
In listed order
In pairs -
Their selflessness set an example.
Their words are my education.
Their tunes are exhilarating.

But maybe because I am lazy
Only twice I have been roused to action -
Inspired (In the loose constrict of what I am doing here).

A Cat Lassie singing her heart out
Past the shallow
Acceptance of age and aesthetics
Being key to a dream.
A Potter sometimes in a Frock
On topic – shark in a tank
Cracking the consensus
With champion ceramics.

There is the commonality
Of the Cat Lassie
And the Potter sometimes in a Frock
Both inspired me
One to make a start
T’other to keep going with my art.

When I Am Silent

When I scream,
Do not listen.
When I judge,
Do not listen.

When I curse,
Do not listen.
When I ridicule,
Do not listen.

When I am pitiful,
Do not listen.
When I am boastful,
Do not listen.

When I am silent,
Please listen.

Goldilocks Vs Wilde Woolf

Watch the rodents and regulars
Sifting through the spiritless so-so
Of their sake.
Rushing for a room
In the established B&B,
Avocados and aperitifs
Swelling their bellies and slowing their minds.
Always wary of all their wares,
Reapers of replication.
The competition of the committee
For no tribute, nor travesty, just toll.

Watch the stickmen and society
Parade through the pith paths
Of their poetry.
Dawdling for the day
In the extraordinary ordinary,
Tates and Tatt
Warming their bellies and fizzing their minds.
No wares or too many to care,
Makers of mavericks,
Challengers of the committee,
For just tribute, or travesty, no toll.

Be No More Deceit

Today I did
dare to deceive,
To deceive a yesterday
I dare not face.
To deceive tomorrow
Dare me not.

Tomorrow did
become today,
deceive I did not.
And when tomorrow
becomes a yesterday,
Still I will not.
