The Sea

In the midst of a cool breezy night...
Lies the essence of wonder in sight...
A soft ray of light glistens on the ocean...
Sets the mood now deep in motion...
Rushing waves breaking on the shore...
Shhh! Listen, and hear much more...
Sound of Silence...
Sound of Peace...
Gives the feeling of sweet release...
See the pebbles softly lie...
Within the sand beneath the sky...
In the air a sweet perfume...
Begins to surface begins to bloom...
Come now land!
Come now sea!
Join together in unity!
A sweet aroma you will bring...
A flood of salt upon your wings!
So let us now take you in...
And see your beauty deep within...
That we might share of your abundance...
Which God has given without repentance...

The Gift of Life

As I was walking...
I met a man...
Who had two scars...
One on each hand...
As I walked on and as I walked by...
I noticed a hole that was there in His side...
I stopped...
I turned...
And I walked toward Him...
And there around His head...
Were more scars on His skin...
I said...What happened to you?
Have you been in a fight?
He said...No my child this is not right...
As I began to inquire more of Him...
He began to tell me that it was a result of sin...
Sin I said?
I don’t understand?
Again...He showed me the scars on his hands...
As I looked on...
He began to explain...
That sin was the cause of His death and His pain...
Did you sin I asked?
Are you to blame?
Why did you have to die?
What did you gain?
He answered...I did not sin and I am not to blame…
But...I did it for you...
To keep you from shame...
For me?
You did it for me?
Yes my child...For I wanted you to see...
That I have loved you...
And that I have cared...
And you’re life in me...
I wanted to share...
But why?
What have I done?
To receive your life...
That we might be one?
Oh...Nothing He said...
Nothing at all...
For it’s by grace that I have given...
And I have given it to all...
All?
You’ve given it to all?
Yes He said...
The both great and the small!
Wow!!!
How could I have not known...
The love that you shared by dying alone?
That’s okay He said...
You were not informed...
But now you know...
Now you’ve been warned...
So please...
Go tell my people...
Tell them no lie...
That it was for this cause...
That I had to die...

Reality - Who Are You

Reality: Who are you?
Are you time?
Are you a moment?
Can you be heard?
Can you even be uttered through a mere man's word?
Can we take you and dwell on your timely existence?
Or are you something that stays at a lengthy distance?
Can you be grasped?
Can you be taken deep within?
Or can we sum you up in a word called sin?
Can we make you what we want you to be?
Can you be felt?
Can you be touched?
Or even seen?
Are you something we can change?
Can we curse you?
Can we bless you?
Till you're rearranged?
Can we close our eyes and make you go away?
Or do we just accept that you're here to stay?
You've taken our hearts and you've gripped them with fear!
Tell me reality...
Why are you here?
Are you something we're not to understand?
But just to be used for God's own plan?
Are you a space?
A vacancy for God to fill?
So He can place us...
To use us for His own will?
Oh Please!
Oh Please!
Hear our cry!
Let us fellowship before we die!
To know of your truth and your life...
Your love...
Your joy...
Your sorrow...
Your strife...
Once we've tasted of your sweetness you will see...
You will no longer be a mystery...
Oh!
Open our eyes so we can see...
Your real true meaning...
Reality...

Still

Still...

...the sun rises and sets with each new day.
...the moon surfaces and goes into hiding each night.
...the stars orbit the galaxy giving the earth a beautiful display of wonder.

Still...

...the seasons come and go with each passing year.
...the spring brings forth fresh flowers and rain.
...the summer a heat that pounds every inch of creation.
...the fall introduces the changing of colors like a brand new wardrobe.
...the winter gives a blanket of brisk fallen snow.

Still...

...with tragedies comes the courage to rebuild.
...with death we move on only to hold onto the memories left behind.

Still...

...the mind turns like a well oiled machine, spitting out inventions in hopes to make the world a better, yet more complicated place to reside.

Still...

...we laugh.
...we cry.
...we sing.
...we dance.
...using every emotion to express and display our deep hidden secrets.

Still...

...the search is on...
...to search for happiness and contentment.
...for satisfaction.
...for meaning.
...for hope.
...for money.
...for answers to difficult questions.
...for solutions to problems we don't understand.
...for a creator to explain why all of creation exists in the first place.

Still...

...we dream of making a difference.
...for a better tomorrow.
...for a cure.
...for security.
...for fulfillment.
...for an invention to make life more comfortable.

Still...

...the cries of others go unheard.
...the hustle and busyness of life keeps us indifferent.
...our roads are paved with good intentions that are never acted upon.

Still...

...we want more.
...we want achievement.
...we want power.
...we want prestige.
...we want others to notice - "Hey! I'm here..."

Still...

...we look everywhere.
...we seek and don't find.
...we ask and don't receive.

Still...

...we don't think.
...maybe we have it all, but not know it.
...maybe we've looked in all the wrong places.
...we've looked to the right.
...we've looked to the left.
...we've looked down.
...but have we ever tried looking up? ...still.
