Dream Chasing

Having a dream can be so amazing.
But if you're not going to put the work in it, then why chase it.
To follow your dreams is a stepping stone of what you are made of.
Grasping the knowledge of what you're good at then just blow it up.
Believing in your in your dreams shows character, dedication and passion.
There will be a lot of people that will not like it.
Please don't let it stop your actions.
Chasing your dreams is a whole other level.
Its like graduating from being smart to intelligent, the work is a little harder.
And the rewards are much greater.
Never let the negative attitudes of others put you in danger.
Because living your dreams you will find complete happiness and find new places.
Its all about you and those dreams you're chasing.

My Shades, Earrings and Lipstick

I say the love was lost when he goes there and do the unexpected.
Its like he wanted to hurt me so he used sex as a weapon.
I think I would be a fool to ask was it unprotected.
But I suspected it to be more than BS besides excepting this.
Just let me clarify the evidence.
All the info up until this point has been very relevant.
Even the MF, who bought me the info stick out like an elephant!
Damn!
I'm trying to figure out why everybody wanna mess up my happiness.
Nevertheless, I'm lady-like pissed.
I'm sipping on Hennessey.
Listening to Mary J. Blige greatest hits.
As I let the tears fall behind
My Shades, Earrings, & Lipstick

Blood On My Hands

I've seen a few murders with the naked eye.
And if you're reading this poem no need to be surprised why.
The streets had me blind since I was 11 years old.
And now at the age 27 I need to make sure all my stories get told.
The last murder is what really hurt the most.
I should have told him about the word of God first.
But he was so deep in the streets in his eyes there was no hope.
And as he took his last breath, my new life started.
Just to see the fear in his eyes as his body left earth I felt departed.
I felt responsible for his death.
Because we were together and having fun I remembered he was so happy to hear he was having a son.
I just never got a chance to tell him about God's plan.
Till this very day I can still see the blood on my hands.
I will miss you always Demetrius Simpson

Who Told You I Was Ready

I didn't tell my mother he was a friend of the family.
I didn't tell you to come into my room, who told you I was ready.
I see his smile looking at me from across the room.
I guess this is something all little girls have to do, who told you I was ready.
I don't want him to touch me down there.
But he whispered in my ear don't say a word.
If you tell your mother, then you I'll hurt.
Who told you I was ready
I wonder who did it to him.
Because I knew I wasn't his first.
He always comes in my room when my mother goes to work.
When I finally told my mother the look on her face was so heavy.
I thank God it wasn't her that told him I was ready....
I still wonder now, who told him I was ready.

Cleveland Lane

When I was younger Cleveland was so big to me.
I came close to success a few times but back I just wasn't ready.
I had to gain a strong will and some professional knowledge.
For me to get where I was going I needed God
The fruits of the spirit, a new look with style and polish.
I gotta be honest, I never been shy and always stood out in an audience.
I bring my words to life the moment you meet me and I speak you will see its quite obvious.
From downtown Cleveland to the inner-city streets.
I done stomped with some big dawgs and mingled with some of the coldest alley cats.
As hear us play loud music screaming "where the party at"
We all know Cleveland is a cut-throat city especially in the meanest neighborhoods.
But if you took the time to know us we cool just a little misunderstood.
Cleveland is the city where we work hard and play harder.
We are more than just the average city on the water.

216

It doesn't even matter what season it is my area code stay lit.
So when the sky change colors we get dressed and come out and politic.
Even on slow nights you just gotta know where to be.
We use the back street as a cheat sheet just to get to where we need to be.
Now we move faster but our actions move way quicker.
216 raw in-cut some above average real talk no filter.
Summertime in 216 it gets hottest.
Ladies looking fly and polish
My real niggas stay clean and smiling acting all modest.
216 my area code in Cleveland where we live the hardest.

Alter Ego Part 2

I had a heart pounding dream.
That I was sitting at a big table in a real big room.
I was being judged by my character and the way I move.
I can hear voices but see no faces.
I’m standing here asking them who the hell are you.
Then it got quiet.
I could hear this chick say what if your dreams come true.
I said expand it because that’s what I was born to do.
Then I hear 2 more voices whispering.
Give it to her it’s time to show and prove.
As I get close I can finally see their faces.
And they were just sitting there smiling like the 3 amigos.
Would you believe I was standing there talking to all3 of my alter egos.

Body Art Work

If I let you in my heart.
You must put me first,
keep it real with me always and
I’ll show you a woman’s worth.
When I let you inside the softest place on earth.
Once inside the softest place on earth,
you could never deny or lie that you was up in it.
Because now I have your body, soul, mind and spirit.

The Love Between a Man and a Woman

A woman can love a man so much that it can drive her crazy.
Can't eat can't sleep, it can be so deep like cutting yourself shaving.
A man can love a woman so much that he really starts changing.
But playing with his heart can lead to something so dangerous.
But together they can make one hell of a team.
He carries the 40 cal. while she carries the 9mm with a beam.
And when they start their family.
She put things in order so it won't turn into a tragedy.
So while he's working and bringing home the bacon.
Its a beautiful thing, this is how it should be there is no mistaken.
There is nothing more beautiful than the love between a man and a woman.
Because God made man stronger and God made women smarter
There is no end to this poem because I wrote it and I am the author.

A Green Rose In Cleveland

Green Roses do exist.
Let me tell you who I am with a significant twist.
I represent the beauty and war of a rose.
You can read that in the books and poems that I wrote.
But please make note.
I am the green rose and green is the color of growth.
It symbolizes renewal, rebirth and life.
I come from a heartless city I almost got killed twice.
My rose still got love in it, and I’m growing right out the concrete.
I grind and hustle every day, we call that repeat.
I haven’t even reached my peak.
But a lot people still listen when I speak.
Yet I still grow in the cold which a few people envy.
I don’t let that get to me it’s still money to be made in the city.
I told you who I Am without competing.
I simply told you a story of “A Green Rose in Cleveland”
