The Heart of a Volunteer

I realize that I had the
most steady heart
the heart of him who thinks of you
to continue to help with a
 sense of loyalty
even if it is just a dream

I realize that I had the
Most creative heart
the heart of him who write to volunteers
to continue to show care with a
sense of loyalty
Even if "a caring heart" is just a dream.

I realize that I had the
Most sweetest heart
the heart of him who shares
to continue to love with a
sense of loyalty
Even if he is in love with a dream.

October 1

I 'm October 1
Evidence of heroes past.
my dares too dear
my attitude too black with the
brilliance to dare.
I dare where my forefathers dread.
Inspite their absence, i'm still alive
still breathing.

I'm October 1
The end of a white man's brush.
As certain as the sunset, issue emerge
people diverse,as tissues remain
from self inflicted issues,
yet I still stand on all fours.

I'm October 1
54 years too young still hoped for in years to come
my birth was so longed for, yet a mistake.
As a nation with a name and long as am free
this wall cannot contain my spirit.
I'm October 1.
