Give and Take

Menopause hits you hard with vigor, and you slap others near who trigger.

Avoid Banana Peels

for slipping on one
is never
very appealing

Natural Music

clop clop hooves on stone
stomping rhythm moves and jerks

Music Everywhere

Singing gently sneaks inward
often taking us unaware with
unusual new tones and nontones.
Note how wild wind flutters leaves
driving ears to stand and snatch
soft sounds of cool air tapping.

An unexpected blast booms when
boiled water readily rumbles
on key, sputters and splashes.
Uncap water’s playful plop
near full faucets or its wet
dramatic gush from hoses.

All without traditional
lyrics, these symphonies do
lull us into high humming.

A peek at a fire’s frenzy adds
radical sizzles ending
our samples of timed tempos.

Understand that to some mere
noise causes headaches, cringes
and inner storms,
but others recognize airy,
drowning, liquid and burning
compositions.

The Fall

Boldly striking icy and white
Layering and building piles of snow
Intensely stacking to block all site
Zealously covering all with each blow
Zoning in to place the powder left to right
As high winds strengthen to continue this fight
Raging, destroying and yet leaving an ominous glow
Deceiving with the quiet calm of this mighty foe

Joy

Wizened and shackled by a human horde
They elicit mordacious comments
While trapping such warmth
Imprisoned in a heartless cartridge
Soon to be shot to extinction
They loiter in the world
Finding any and all feelings trifle

Old Age

years pull away from
petals fragile limp dusty
which curl as they dry
aging stops all former bloom
once smelling sweet with vigor

Blowing

Wind gentle, breezy cooling, caressing, comforting touch, air, slap, upheaval attacking, circulating, destroying brutal, hurtful tornado
