Weep Not For Sins That Are Long Past

Weep not for sins that are long past
For they are but a teaching tool
Those moments gone, no more to last
When you were but a silly fool!

With lessons learned, pray you move on
Vow to live well, be happy still…
With shadows of the past now gone
New purpose found, new hope, new will!

Your soul is like a raging ocean
Bringing forth litter, and debris
Crashing waves in constant motion
Wipe clean the sand, back out to sea.

Empty your soul of sins long past
Those moments gone, no more to last!

With the Morning Sun, An Abc Poem,Sonnet

Another morning filled with sun
Beckons the mind to open where,
Clearing the cobwebs has begun,
Dreaming so many words to share.

Enjoy my tea and my muffins
For this is when I’m most at peace
Grab pen and paper, fun begins
Hoping a new poem will release.

Imbedded in my mind are words,
Just wish I could remember some!
Knocking around, but never heard
Laugh it off, someday they will come.

Many thoughts appear thru the night
Never found with the morning light!

Laughing With Me

I tried to play tennis but looked like a goose
They took some pictures, said this is no use,

I could hit the ball, but in the wrong place!

Then I tried basketball, for I was tall
Most of the time I could not get the ball,

And everyone knew my name was not grace!

Thought running or track might be my talent
Tripped on my feet, on the pavement went,

So pretty I lay there, with a red face!

An athlete, not me, but I’ll tell you this
With the right attitude, you cannot miss,

If you laugh at yourself, you’ve won the race!

Medical Findings

There was an old man, to the doctor he went
He needed advice, he needed to vent
He read that he mustn’t have too much to eat
Or his good health, that would surely defeat.

No sugar, but substitutes would be fine
No diet drinks, or beer, or even wine
He stressed out and tried to listen so well
And followed the book, as his friends would tell.

His entire life was spent planning each day
While following every word “they” would say
Then he developed all manner of “ill”
Was sure he was dying against his will.

An autopsy was done, a finding found…
His constant worry put him in the ground!

Monday Morning, a Loop Sonnet

Monday morning slowly waking
Waking to a drizzly rain
Rain that comes down ever whispering
Whispering, time to wake again!

Again my mind’s ever churning
Churning with thoughts of the day
Day of poetry and yearning
Yearning for what I must say.

Say in words what I am feeling
Feeling in this early morn
Morn with my words ever forming
Forming… a new format born!

Born by chance I can’t deny
Deny ‘tis useless, I must try!

Life Goes On

First it was seizures
And then I was blind
Sight was returned
And then I was fine.

Then came the cancer
But I was not afraid
Just a little annoying
Then life was repaid.

A life threatening event
The doctors said no way
In my determined mind
I said I’m here to stay.

A cat has nine lives
I think humans do too
I’ve used three of mine
Four more I am due.

A Strong Womans Revenge

It seems Mother Nature is now going thru the “change”
After millions of years it begins to be so strange
The cycle of birth, whether days or eons of time
Growing pains were abundant with great reason ‘n rhyme.

There came a time of growing, as she filed out her space
Beautiful flora and fauna were put upon her face
For man to inherit all that she had given him
A balance was created, and it was not just a whim…

Man’s intervention would follow, and wars would be fought
She was pushed to the limit, but then she had a thought
“I’m too old to accept constant manipulation.”
“It’s time to show them who’s in charge, in every nation!”

“Twilight’s coming too early so, now I’ll rearrange…
And, as all women know, hot flashes come with the “change!”

Second Love

Love once felt Opens the soul up wide. Feelings will grow, no longer to hide. As the years pass away, two souls become as one, Then fate steps in with the fading sun. Now only memories Of his love. Time allows For love to come again. Open your soul as you did back when You were blessed with his love, you must open the door, And allow new love to come once more. So a soul full of love Lives again.

A Poets Dilemma

Your pen is poised, eager to create
The paper lays ready, it can’t wait
Searching your mind for inspiration
Emotion soars with anticipation…

Looking around, you search for a spark
You hear the sweet singing of a lark
Out your window, squirrels are playing
And leaves flutter on branches swaying…

The smell of coffee, a breakfast scone
An urge to write like you’ve never known
As you sit quietly in your soft chair
There must be inspiration somewhere…

Coffees gone, and no more muffin
Alas, I’ll admit… “I got nothin’”

As You Share Your Life Thru Poetry

How does your mind and soul blossom thru life?
It begins in childhood with churches and schools.
Thru your adolescence it’s tinged with strife,
But all of these are the greatest of tools.

Circumstances dictate how you will be raised,
How other people’s words will color you.
Parents may be faulted or may be praised,
But as you grow you will form your own view.

When, as you mature, and wisdom arrives,
It’s clear your words, either written or said,
May live on to influence, mold others’ lives,
And thru their poems, and yours, you’ll be led.

Write your words wisely for others to see
As you share your life through poetry!
