The butterflies dance
Rain breaks softly
The pause to my tango

Audrey Poore Poem
Call me in the morning
Preferably 3am
When the world is quiet, your mind cloudy
Your soul is a double agent
He hijacks your body
He tells me all of the secrets you collected that day
Wispy memories float across space
Dreams are classified, he broke the code
For just a moment, he is my hero
He grips the phone tighter
You mustn't awake
He talks for hours until the sky turns gray
Classified information exist, he insists
I write it all down in the book of my mind
We will meet again, he informs
Preferably in the morning 3am

Audrey Poore Poem
What is it
I don't know
I have never had it
I see it everyday
I see it everywhere
I searched for it
In the cracks
In the details
In the hedges
In the edges
I looked everywhere
Down below
Over the top
Into betwixt
Here and there
I searched everywhere
What is it
I don't know
I have never had it

Audrey Poore Poem
Fear and Anxiety were guarding man one night. Tired from his watch Anxiety sank into the sand, contemplating their plight. We must be grains of sand, he muttered to Fear, that must be the purpose we have out here. Fear looked at Anxiety and replied; surely we are not so lowly, we must be great like the stars. They are so majestic! They argued for awhile and ran to find Truth. Truth could always be found although she was a little scrambled, having lost pieces of herself looking for Answer in the brambles. Truth said she knew a little, having just conferred with Present. Present said he would know more, if he conversed with Past. Past was right around the corner, a little drunk with Experience and she said she would know the perfect answer once she found Beginning. They searched all night and argued 'til morning. Beginning, having overheard the dissent, knew it was a useless conversation. Smiling at the stars and curling in the sand he watched with Contentment, the sleeping Man.

Audrey Poore Poem
He said I was naïve
She said I was strange
He said I was intimidating
She said I was too pretty
He said, she said
All of the said, littered my feet
I shook my boots and kept on walking
Out of all of the said
Nothing really had been said at all

Audrey Poore Poem
They will call you strange
Egotistical
Arrogant
Nonsensical
Whimsical
Naive
To be unashamedly Human
Afraid and bold
Good and bad
Humble yet prideful
Happy and sad
To embrace it all and say Human
I am Human complete
I will neither turn to the left
Nor right
This is a fine line I walk
I'm fine with that
I as you, we are incredibly
Beautifully, wonderfully
Imperfectly perfect Human
I'm OK with that

Audrey Poore Poem
You may think you are promoting peace
when you take a child's voice
You may think you are guiding them
in the right way
When they make you uncomfortable
with things they think and say
I want you to know, the secret side to this
Their voice is not your voice
You may be demoting peace
For how can they recognize
any other pain, song of true love
Voices crying in the dark
They themselves have not learned their own sounds
Having been made uncomfortable
You replaced their voice with your own
Have you ever heard the birds sing
Sounds of night
So many voices finding their own way
Perfect harmony
In crooked trees and faded flowers
So don't ever think for a minute
Your voice is their voice
If ever you get uncomfortable
With their authenticity
Ask yourself
Why the trees are crooked
Flowers are faded
Voices still singing in perfect
Harmony

Audrey Poore Poem
One day the hate will be for nought
A new hate will have arisen, yours forgot
New ideas spring everyday
It has always been this way
From the fall of Rome to Berlin wall
Ideals have been fought for, great and small
It is wonderful to pick up a cause
To fight for change in matters that matter
Just keep this in mind when screaming, Reality
You shouted so loud
You forgot what was important
To be the change you try to present
In the end, it is this most noble
To be what you preach before it goes global
That is the true evolution
The link between space of continuous fruitions
Remember this when next you see
Revolution

Audrey Poore Poem
Clipped your wings my lovely one
Heavy words adorn your crown
Silence a corset
Graceful steps once dancing
Hide under skirts of silken lies
I see you in memory long forgotten
Dancing in the rain
Laughing at my curiosities
Hand in hand across summer field
I see him come in from afar
His delights upon dark horse
You stand before me now
Adorned in his beauty
I weep I weep
