Death Wish

When hearts get broken,
Real tears fall.
I sit there hoping I can show you all.
My heart's desire is all I want
Fight fire with fire; you'll be gaunt.
Time is essence of the heart
That teaches me lessons that tear me apart.
My thoughts lessen and I cry
You shouldn't be messing with me
I want to die.
A river forms behind my eyes
The love I once had for you dies.
Take the arrow, aim it straight;
Hit my heart and fill me with hate.
Listen up and beware:
My thoughts are churning
No, I don't care.
Time is shortening; you must hurry
Death is threatening.
My vision is blurry.
I hate to say this
And you I will miss
I wish I had one last kiss.

Leaving

Everyone's excited to be leaving
We thought this day would never come,
Eighteen years of laughs and make-believing.
At last it's time to run away from home.

But we will have to say goodbye
To all our friends
The next time we meet it will be noisy
As we tell each other who we've become.

So the only way to go is to just go
Perhaps you think I oversimplify
Got to make yourself take the leap
Trust yourself to fly.

Everyone's excited to be leaving
As if we can't grow up until we part
Naively we agree there'll be no grieving-
We embrace as though we know each others heart

Despite the Pain, a New Beginning

Pain litters the once joyful heart
Hurting every day.
Lies pile up constantly.
In the darkness of her bedroom
screams and cries no hears
cause agony and despair.
Her innocence is lost,
Lost like her trust.
Pain captures millions,
to hold on to forever.
His temper
so uncontrollable like a warm summer storm.
His icy grasp
uncooperative, uncaring,
knocks her forcefully
to the floor.
Their children asleep
in their bedrooms,
so afraid of daddy,
their laughter has ceased,
like silence that shouldn't be.
Tears fall like
rain on her cheeks.
Knowing he'll soon strike again
so she'll forgive him,
time and time again.
Amidst all the rainbow colored bruises
there is one piece of truth.
After all the abuse she takes
there's hope for her.
A new life without him.
Without him there
to hit her and make her cry.
Despite all the pain she's
endured there's a brand new
beginning for her and her children.

Rain

Rain rain come today
Come and wash my pain away
Through the light and deep dark night
Bring to strengthen my wikkid heart.
My life is broken without hopes of fixin
Please bring me to the light,
That is where my heart delights
And steer me in a way in which
My life amounts the energy.
To give hope again.
In the eyes of lost desire
My hope will bring comforting fires.
Guide me in a truth bound loyalty
That only brings nothin but joyful times.
Joy has come and left;
I knew I had the best.
But watch me as I live my life,
The best I ever had.
Ups and downs this coaster rides,
But with the help of fam;
My heart can rise again.
So I'm going to hold my hatchet high
And swing it till the day I die:
WOOP WOOP

Golden Heart

Dedicated to my dad who died Jaunary 25, 2005.

God saw you were getting tired
and a cure was not meant to be.
So He put His arms around you
and whispered, "Come with me."

With tearful eyes we watched you
as we saw you pass away.
Although we loved you deeply,
we could not make you stay.

Your golden heart stopped beating,
hard-working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.

Unbroken Time

What's best has yet to come,
Many milestones have yet to pass,
But time has yet to let me erase
My past.
Where love ends and anger takes its place
Pullin my heart from under the knife.
Closin the door on all of our dreams
One last goodbye and you walked away.
I'm lockin it and sealin it
Not a single memory resides.
Burning inside 'cause I want you so much
And the flame burns as my heart
Beats for the love and,
Desire of your will and heart.
How could you turn and walk away?
From the times that were meant to be.
I found myself so in love with you.
And you promised you would never lie!!
But when I left my heart with you,
You turned my life upside down!

In the Shelter of Your Arms

In this cold world no matter where I go
the crowds, they're all the same.
To them I'm just a pebble in the sand,
a face without a name.

Nobody gives a hang for what I say or do
But you, and in the shelter of your arms
I find peace and comfort and care
For I am wanted there.

In this cold world, you struggle to survive
and sometimes, you can fall.
You'd think someone would lend a helpin hand
they'd sooner see you crawl.

But just when life itself seems more than I can bare...
You're there and in the shelter of your arms
I find strength and comfort with care.
For I am wanted there.
Just give me one good reason
to go on living. To keep on trying
For what.?.I ask you for what?
If not for you and all your love, to see me through.

But just when life itself seems more than I can bare
You're there and in the shelter of your arms I find
strength and safety in them, I rise and start again.

Love and Pain

I'm sitting here trying to find what's right
How can this be such a big fight?
Lost between love and pain
My tears fall like rain
Can I stay strong?
Can I walk away?
He always has so much to say
I remember the lies
He's never seen me cry.
I hold on tight with all my heart
Even if all he does is rip it apart.
The world around is turning black
Too scared to look back.
Losing him is scary but being hurt is the fear
I wanna be his again
He won't say yes or no!
I should just go
Being with him might not be my fate
Yet him I still can't hate
Doesn't seem fair
He's never going to care
Something tells me not to try
I'm so lost in love and pain
I'm gonna end up going insane!!!

Broken

I never let my feelings show,
I never let anybody know.
Tired of living like a blind man,
It's not like you didn't know that
I said I love you and I swear I still do.
Cause being with me
Must have damn near killed you!
Pullin my heart from under the knife
I'm alone, so alone.
Love is made and just thrown away.
Tryin to figure out
Where the whole thing went wrong.
There were no angry words at all
Nothing much for us to say!
Swept up inside a whirlwind,
with shattered dreams
And a broken heart.
If only I had known
I'd never get to hear your voice again.
