54 Precent

54 percent may seem like just a number,
A number that means nothing.
54 percent of girls think that what they look like defines who they are.
That being skinny will get you far.
The perfect hair and the perfect smile.
Hiding behind masks of insecurity.
54 percent of girl believe that beauty is only skin deep.
Everyday waking up,
Putting on a mask of makeup.
Straightening your hair to the perfect style.
Because what you look like,
 Must map out your life.
Beauty is not only skin deep,
Beauty thrives from the depths of your soul,
Out unto the most beautiful face of all.
But I guess I can’t talk,
Being as I am part of that 54 percent.

Life's Your Dream

You go to bed, your curfew long past.
Your mind is so tired, yet moving so fast.
Your thoughts have no certain themes,
Just creativity in your quixotic dreams.
Adventures from close and far,
beyond the Milky Way and past the stars.
Where you fight pirates, in the heat or the cold,
And slide down rainbows to find your pot of gold.
You dreams are powerful, they make you strong.
But when you wake up Your dreams are all gone.
Now take a second and think,
What if you still really are asleep?

What if your dreams were just a buildup,
For when you really woke up.
Has life passed me by?
Have I ever really spoken the words hello and goodbye?
Have all these years been not what they seem?
I guess I’ll never know, if I am awake,
Or if my life has all been a dream.

Alive

A beautiful girl,
With a beautiful smile,
Staring into her eyes,
Getting lost for miles.
She asleep,
Eyes always shut.
Her body lays in dust.

Her heart has stopped,
No longer will it work.
The love inside is alive.
Spreading like a wildfire.
She is gone,
Yet she is more alive than ever.

Forever Love

I met you,
I talked to you,
You made me smile,
I fell in love with you,
I worked for you,
I saw how you felt,
I gave up,
I didn’t stop loving you.
I made you laugh,
You liked my smile,
You fell in love with me,
You worked for me,
I fell in love with you,
We tried,
It didn’t work,
We took a break,
I didn’t stop loving you.
We worked for each other,
You had me,
You loved me,
You got bored of me,
You broke me,
I will never stop loving you.

Glass

I am glass
I look sturdy,
But I am very fragile,
Easily broken.
I can be cracked with any and every touch.
I am translucent.
I can be seen through
I do not hide who I am.
If you think about it,
All I am is glass.
I'm just there.
I am not noticed,
Until I am gone.
I am a glass girl ,
In a plastic world.
I am surrounded by hard shiny plastic people.
In their hard shiny plastic homes,
With their hard shiny plastic dogs.
Hard shiny plastic is different from glass you see.
Hard shiny plastic is difficult to break.
It is always noticed.
And no matter how hard you try,
You cannot see what is on the inside.
But I, a glass girl, have figured it out.
On the inside of a hard shiny plastic girl,
Lies one just as I, glass.
But she is hidden.
Underneath a mask.
And under that mask,
Is a translucent glass girl.
But,
Who wants to be a glass girl?
After all I am fragile.
Easily cracked.
And the only time I am noticed,
Is when I am no longer there

Love Is a Bust

Love is a sparked ember that soon will grow.
Love's a fire, it is bright at first.
But soon the spark is put out by thick white snow.
And like a spark in snow, love never works.
Love is autumn, with leaves of bright colors.
And like the leaves, you will fall.
All is well until you become dolor.
A love once strong now is nothing at all.
Hoped to never feel, the feel of heartbreak.
The thought of loosing everything in a single night.
Your mind full of anger, your heart how it aches,
Broken because you thought this one was right.
Over it is because love became lust.
So give up you will, love is a bust

Goodbye

Gazing out the window,
looking into the sky.
Seeing a fluffy white cloud,
as it passes by.
Screaming aloud,
‘till my head really hurts.
Running around.
barefoot in the dirt.
All of these things,
and many more.
Are my favorite things,
they fly out the door.
Just as the clouds fly by,
to all good things in life,
you must say goodbye.

Why

Why does anything happen?
Why does everything happen?
Why do people get judged for who they are?
Why are the colors thrown against cars?
Why do we shoot our own kind?
Why do we hate everyone we find?
Why are women treated less?
Why are we forced to cook and look pretty in a dress?
Why do we judge for the gender we love?
Why does it matter what God we believe lies above?
Why are men superior to all?
Why do they always get to make the final call?
Why are we not treated all the same?
Why are we treated as differently as the sun and the rain?
Why do I look at myself and feel ashamed ?
Why should anyone care what I look like ,
And why am I always blamed?
Why should anyone ever be called fat?
Why should you be the reason someone has the selfisteam of a rat?
But we all know this world will never change,
So take a second and pause,.
And think,
Are you the cause?

Ruby Gray Memorial

I know someone who's personality shines bright.
I know someone who's laughter lights the stars at night.
I know someone who is more beautiful than anyone, it seems.
I know someone who follows her dreams.
I know someone who always wears Nike.
I know someone who's always right by me.
I know someone who wears a Cheetah onesie.
I know someone who's funnier than fonzie.
I know someone who is a second sister to me.
I know sister who loves, and is loved by me.
I know someone who the pope came to see.
I know someone who dances and sings like crazy.
I know someone with the initials RG.
I know someone who is loved by all, as she will always be.
I know someone named Ruby Gray,
And she's someone I will miss everyday.
I know someone who will never be too far.
I know someone who shines with the stars.
I know someone who's legacy will always live on, passed the future, to infinity and beyond.

All Around Me

I sit in the park,
My curfew long passed.
My mind so tired,
Yet moving so fast.
I can feel you,
The real you,
Before you past.
Save the moment,
Make it last.
A beautiful body,
In such beautiful motion,
I am filled with such deep emotion.
Close my eyes,
And I can see,
Your spirit all around me.
From the depths of the ground,
To the tops of the trees,
Your spirit is all I can see.
A memory you are not,
A legacy is what you sought.
From inside my heart,
To all I see,
Your spirit lies within me.
I open my eyes,
And walk in your shoes,
I am no longer in my blues.
Your happiness,
Pumps in my veins,
I hear your voice,
Run through the plains.
I scream to you,
 My voice it strains.
Three words,
Always the same.
Where are you I yell,
And I know you hear,
Because you whisper in my ear.
I love you,
And I am always here.
