The Soul of a Poet

Searching deep in his mind,
A poet searches to bind,
The soulful world of his thoughts,
Through his works in knots.

From a historical battle,
To grazing cattle,
And the wonders of nature,
All within his curvature.

Some filled with magic,
Others with more logic,
A few that’s planned,
And some from back hand.

In his hands, a child’s play,
The language. In his own way,
His works are great.
And that’s the soul of a poet.

How I Became An Immortal-A Prequel To An Immortal's Tale

It was the Roman times,
A high noble I was,
The city was under a rule of mimes,
Passed to control, were silent laws.

I travelled outside the city walls,
For a really important trade,
And suddenly my chariot stalls,
In front of us was a blockade.

The bandits swarmed over us,
All my companions fled,
So I was captured, thus,
To their place, I was led.

I was out cold,
Woke up in a den,
A lot of things, new and old,
Were stolen by these men.

A pot caught my eye,
"Don't drink or suffer", it said,
So in thirst, what I did, was not so wise,
As from now on, I can't be dead.

I realized this, but too late,
When the bandits attacked, I escaped unharmed,
Succumbed to my fate,
From now on, never could I be harmed.

The Winter Voyage

On reaching the bank of a river,
Docking in a icy bank,
Snow that shined like silver,
Welcomed my eyes, but was a little dank.

I climbed out of my boat,
The snow is a little cold,
So I put my coat,
But all the beauty, is as priceless as gold.

My eyes met the sparkling ice,
The way the colours split,
With a dash of colourful slice,
The scene was out of my wits.

The snow was falling in flakes,
Looked for a shelter, I did,
From a distance I watched, as it makes,
A perfect wintery grid.

A cave is where I took shelter,
Taunting icicles hung inside,
It was a real heart melter,
As a sculptor, went my pride.

The river flowed in a perfect drift,
So I picked my spade, and took an ice slab,
Climbed my boat in a swift,
Went back to my working lab.

Fountain of Wisdom

There's a fountain of wisdom,
In a far away land,
Of an unknown kingdom,
Buried deep in sand.

A long journey awaits,
For those who dare,
Filled full of baits,
For people not so bare.

A vast ocean of knowledge lies,
To them who managed to reach,
A lot that makes you dies,
Mind becomes free, ready to breach.

There you'll learn the ultimate lesson,
One that'll make you great,
For it's you that is special, son,
Since your life's no one's to rate.

The Elevated One

I climbed atop the mountains,
To find the Elevated One,
He is in one of it's summits,
Living all alone.

I found him under a tree,
Can't be found by anyone,
I sit beside him,
Tired and done.

I began to speak,
"O' Elevated One,
I come from afar,
Seeking knowledge, this Noble One."

He opened his eyes,
Looked around the zone,
And asked, "Why do you seek,
Me, this Modest One."

"I came to seek wisdom,
As you are, lauded by everyone,
They all call you,
The Elevated One."

"O' Noble Lord,
You're a Great One,
Why do you need wisdom,
Of this Humble One?"

"I have all this wealth,
His Majesty's most favored one,
Countless wars I have seen,
Esteemed by all and everyone."

"You seem to have the admiration,
Of each and everyone,
Even His Majesty's. So why seek me,
'Cause I'm the the Elevated One?"

"It is true, what I said,
Accomplished all, by my lone,
Travelled far and wide I have,
This Esteemed One."

"Yet in all my travels,
I have always heard of this someone,
People praised him all over,
Known as, 'The Elevated One'."

"So I had to see for myself,
'Who's this Elevated One?',
Being spoken about in all of lands,
By each and everyone."

He looked at me in the eye,
"Why are you here, O' Revered One?,
No wisdom I have to offer,
This Humble One."

"So this is it?,
The All Knowing One,
No wisdom to offer,
To this Beloved One."

"You seem to know all,
Everything and everyone,
Stopped to consider have you,
That maybe I am not the one?"

"Who else could you be,
Sitting here all alone?,
Don't trifle with me,
O' unscrupulous One."

A smile broke in his face,
An amicable one,
"I am just a humble man,
Not the Elevated One."

"'Tis is what people call me,
I don't claim to be one,
So what is is that you want,
O' Revered One."

I think I understand,
The mind of this one,
So taking that to heart,
I asked the Humble One.

"Forgive my earlier actions,
I am the misguided one,
So, let me ask you,
A question, only one."

"You're living like this,
Brushing aside the words of everyone,
So how do I live like you,
Not heeding the words of anyone?"

"It is not a mistake,
O' Noble One,
To heed others' words,
And of anyone."

"But it becomes a folly,
If you heed to everyone's,
Not all sweet-tongued are your friends,
Not all foes, sharp-tongued ones."

As his words sunk,
I called out, "O' Wise One,
I have also become wiser, so once,
Again, forgive this Humbled One."

"I understand your plight,
O' Revered One,
For heavy is the head,
That wears the crown."

An Immortal's Tale

I am an immortal,
Passing through eons, be wary,
To the heart of a mortal,
Here’s my story.

I have no reason to fear,
As my enemy, death is not,
Reaper’s scythe doesn’t come near,
So time I have a lot.

But as I escape death’s grip,
My dearests are all but dead,
As they take their afterlife trip,
I mourn their loss and dread.

Many centuries pass by me,
Many a battles I saw,
Kingdoms fell as it may be,
Knowledge I have, as raw.

Even though I saw it all,
No real friends I got,
No one to come for my call,
Living my life, in a pot.

My knowledge is as pure as it gets,
Past of the world I know,
Do not keep any bets,
It’ll be a huge blow.

As my mind is full,
A lot I can’t forget,
Being drawn to the light’s pull,
But I have a lot to see yet.

So a mortal, this is my tale,
As much as I can tell,
And my life is still as pale,
Though I bailed, heaven and hell.

Elements of Life

Time is a fleeting river,
Sailing on it we are,
Whole journey could be in a jar,
A lot it has to deliver.

Change is there forever,
Only thing that's constant,
It's also very important,
To ready ourselves and be clever.

Memories are a reminder,
How it's been so far,
Don't let them leave a scar,
Open the minds a little wider.

And last but not least,
Is what we have done with life,
Don't much strife,
Cause it's all still a feast.

Dark Soul

Doomed to roam the acursed earth,
Atone for its sins, it must.
Roaming this earth for an endless time,
Key to salvation, this is.

Searching in the void,
Oh God! Which path must I take?
Unique to each one, it is,
Lose ourselves, we must.

This Very Month

On this very month,
Comes forth many occasions,
To celebrate, a lot,
Of these are fun,
But one among them is odd,
Ever if you want to know its name,
Read the first letter of every line

The Soulful Soliloquy

I have been happy, never overjoyed,
I have been sad, never grieved,
I have been angry, never furious,
I have been surprised, never unguarded,
I have felt fear, never dread,
And many have I liked, never loved.
