Ashley Hensley Poem
Music is my life.
Music is my soul.
My love.
My heart.
My need.
Music takes me through
The daily ordeals of life
Whenever I'm sad,
I reach for my phone, or
My old, old iPod.
I sing to myself hourly,
Never ever will stop,
Never ever can stop,
Why would I put an end
To one of my few joys?
Maybe my voice is bad.
Maybe I can't play any instruments.
Maybe I can't make music.
But that ain't gonna
Stop me!
Cause you know what-
Music is my life.
Music is my soul.
My love.
My heart.
My need.

Ashley Hensley Poem
Almost fifteen years
Ago, two souls found their mate,
And merged into one
This produced a child
One good year later
And they named this girl
Ashley, to rhyme with
Their last name, Hensley. So now
Thirteen years later,
It is clear how each
Have their own special talent
That they all acquire:
The father, with his
Problem solving and building
Skills that he obtains
The mother, with her
Gardening and cooking and all
Else she does at home
And lastly, the girl
With her ways of words that are
Unique, but as known,
Everyone is their
Own person, and nobody
Can change that small fact.

Ashley Hensley Poem
What makes me happy?
Sometimes I wonder if anything makes me happy anymore,
But then I think,
There is something.
Several somethings.
I love her, my cat.
She may not like me too much,
But I love her more than a lot of things.
She's my baby.
I love it, my tv.
Comedy shows make me laugh,
Makes my world seem
So much brighter than it may be.
I love them, puzzles.
Not those 1000 piece ones, but
The ones like the Montezuma apps and
Chess and Sudoku.

Ashley Hensley Poem
She dances with the butterflies,
She is one with nature
For it she will always nurture
And during the winter she cries
But when the first bud
Blooms out of the stem, alive
She will always strive
To save it from the mud
That covers all of this
World in its dirt, its grime
For it should be a crime
To make the world how it is.

Ashley Hensley Poem
The run down shack
Out in the woods
Boards missing
Graffiti
But that lock on the door
Hasn't stopped anybody
From breaking in through
The windows
What they don't know
Is that you gotta be
A special kind of person
To actually see
What the inside really looks like.
There's more to it than meets the eye.

Ashley Hensley Poem
Death- a terrible
Thing that's unavoidable
Except by one thing.
Time. And time is an
Unavoidable thing too-
But except for fate.
And let me tell you
Something now- there is nothing
That can avoid fate.

Ashley Hensley Poem
The lights dim to nothing,
And eventually even the stars fade,
The Moon, from existence
Leaving nothing but the night to rule...
But the day will rise again.

Ashley Hensley Poem
Walking outside...
Stopping and listening...
I hear the voices,
Not hear but feel,
She's crying to me.
The trees are wailing,
The flowers are weeping,
The sky is bleeding,
I tell you
She's crying to me.
Mother Nature...
Gaea...
Earth mother...
Terra...
She's crying to me.

Ashley Hensley Poem
They see me,
A happy girl!
Smiling, joking, laughing
But they don't know.
That it's just an illusion.
They can't feel
How sad I am.
On the inside I'm crying,
On the inside I'm dying,
Petals of my flower of hope
Are gone...
The tears are streaming down my face,
My mind is trying to find a happy place,
But it's long long gone,
Lost in life's teasing song.
I go to school,
I act happy.
Even if I explained,
They wouldn't care.
But there's nothing to explain,
Nothing good I'd gain.
They think everything's cool,
But I'm just going 'long like a mule...
I feel so alone,
Me myself and I,
Cruising along on the harsh
Path of life!
Alone...

Ashley Hensley Poem
She stands alone
Overlooking the ocean, the world
From her cliff of music
She plays the song of life,
Death, love, hate
Her voice of a goddess
Her tunes of heaven
Keep the world revolving.
And when she stops playing,
The world stops playing with.
