My Son

Lucas my son, you are my world
My amazing bundle of joy
Born 8 pounds and 8 ounces
Words cannot express the love I have for my baby boy
Your birth was difficult
We had alot to face starting out
But with all the pain and the emotional stay
I would do it all again for you any day
You are my miracle that wasn't supposed to be
I thank God for giving you to me
I'm proud to be your mommy
It's the greatest gift I could ever receive
Even though it may be hard with it just being you and me
Just know that I couldn't be more happy
I will never leave you, that I could never do
I will stand by you thick and thin
I will hold you close and cherish you dearly
That is your mother's promise to you

Life Is a Pill

life is a pill
waiting for the bottle to refill
it takes away the feeling
but not the hurt that's dealing
it keeps you under control
but not the violence in your soul
it makes you relax
but not from having to face the facts
it helps you to go to sleep
but not from the nightmares your forced to keep
it helps you to focus all day long
but not keeping you from thinking wrong
and when you realize the pill has not helped you before
you will not want to take them anymore

My Eight Year Old Niece

You were the first to make me an aunt
That's why I hold you so close to my heart
Your the light that brightens my world
Nothing can break us apart
As I held you for the first time
With your little fingers wrapped around mine
All the joy and happiness came upon me
Which at the time was hard to find
From slippers to sneakers
From onesies to jeans
You've grown from a little princess to beautiful queen
As I continue to watch you grow
I also grow to
From the lost young girl
To the mature aunt I continue to be to you
So know I'm always here for you
I'll never be out of reach
Happy 8th birthday to my beautiful and intelligent niece

The Unwanted Daughter

as i knocked on the door i could not help but think
will my heart soar or will it sink
you opened the door and looked at me
could this be who i think i see
i said hi i am your kid
it must have been something i did
cause she just slamed the door and said,
go away to me you are dead
i just want to get to know you
don't you want to get to know me
NO you stupid kid just leave me be
your suppose to love me your my mom
i do not love you get off my damn lawn
fine if you don't like me i will go
but i love you mom that's all i wanted you to know

Empowered Women

I'm empowered by the positive motivation that guides my light
Not from the negative whispers that linger in the night
I'm a women with strength beyond great things
Not a lost wondering spirit stripped of its wings
I refuse to walk backwards
Because my steps are to big to follow
My voice never shallow
My words are to big and powerful
I'm an empowered women guided by the expectation to succeed
With my path already paved
My feet are planted firmly
I will not be pushed down
I will rise from this ground
I will make my statement loud
Because I am an empowered women

Social Media

What happen to the days when we would go outside to play
Being stuck behind a phone screen is what we now do these days
Caught up in all these social media trends
A couple thousand followers
But which ones are your friends
Exstistence has changed a lot
And our smart phones are the sin
Can't even have a conversation
Without looking on Facebook to check in
But what can you really say to people behind a screen
Social media has us hooked
And we're to blind to see
How were being bought by the smart phone industry
Just go outside and look around
You won't find many without there heads down
Because we're so caught up in the moment
Of what's happening online
That the person your ment to be with just passed by
You will never know how that first date feels
The first year of marriage eating burnt meals
The way she looks when she holds your son
The arguments when you say your done
Then later kiss and make up and have some fun
To the moment when your holding her hand on her death bed
And thinking of all the things you could have said
But you didn't because you were on Facebook instead
If we could just only take a minute to go out in the world and have a conversation face to face
You will be surprised at how little effort it takes
Nothing gets accomplished by being on our phones
This world is be turned into social media drones
So turn off your phones, laptops, and iPads
And show the world how you can raise above that
Because you deserve to know how special you really are
And nobody can tell you that on social media anyhow
So don't let the social media industry define your tune
Go out into the world and let the real things inspire you

Easy Today

Is it easy to say that today
I make way
For what lies ahead
Not looking back
No regrets, and with that said
I open myself to a new hope
Where one can move on
From this pain and anguishe
Not to be mistaken
But distinguish
Of never forgetting
Mearly letting the memory live on
Hold dear but not hold on
To how it felt when he was here
To see no life
A mother's worse nightmare
Healing in the process
The stages are endless
Fighting between staying alive and giving into restlessness
She could only think
He is right by her side smiling
But untill her time she will forever be crying
Then the tears start to dry
Take the lows and the highs
Things forever changed
But she will be okay
You hear me while i pray
A new hope is comming her way
Is it easy to say that today
I will celebrate in your concrete parade
Don't worry baby
We're gonna be okay
I love you today and everyday

It's You

If they ask me who i am
I look at you and say that's who i am
All that i want to be
Is the girl that he see's
I take care of him well
Because he is my story to tell
I cook, i clean
Now all i need is a ring
I will be your's through the good times and the bad
I will wipe away your tears and make you laugh when your sad
I'll be there for the achievements and through the tragedy
Because you are my only strategy
Without you there is no life to comprehend
With you is where my life begins
I will love you and cherish you till the day i die
My love for you cannot lie
Your one in a million
I'm one of the lucky few
To have such a wonderful man
To one i hope to say "I DO"

Heart's Weakness

Let me wipe away your tears
In the midst of your despair
Let me hold and and love you
Just let me be there
Every part of me is screaming for your attention
But scared to death that love and affection will soon turn to rejection
Your loving heart and mysterious ways
Make me dream of better days
As my want for you to be mine
But seems I'm left with no time
As you are taking all space in my mind
You may think I'm wierd
And in some ways you might be right
But everyday that goes by
I'm losing my will to fight
Because your pulling me in
With your strong presence of romance
But when it's to good to be true
It usually is and this can't possibly last
My defense is low and my vulnerability is high
Shot down hard with cupids arrow
As I'm now falling from the sky
So help me, guide me, just anything
I'm silently begging you please

Foster Care

I am in foster care
It's like i was assign to a dare
being in foster care is not fair
i am always left out and i cry not doubt
people laugh at me and now i am starting to see
that being in foster care just was not ment to be
i pack my bags
i hit the road
while carrying a big load
but then i realize they would be sad
so i go back and find out there not mad
they say they love me but do as you will
so i think to myself should i go over that hill
i tell them i will stay
then come what may
as i sit at the bay
i start to say
they love me so much why give it all away
so now i am here to stay
my foster family and me
and now i see that it was ment to be
