Christine Saputo Poem
As the birds seem to be singing for me
I quietly sit in sweet serenity
I sit with warm sunshine on my face
I float and drift to a far off place
I quietly sit in sweet serenity
I listen to the song bird's melody
I float and drift to a far off place
I am reminded of God's constant Grace
I listen to the song bird's melody
As I'm witnessing God's Divinity
I am reminded of God's constant Grace
My worries with hope are replaced
My worries with hope are replaced
I sit with warm sunshine on my face
I'm finally gaining much needed clarity
As the birds seem to be singing for me

Christine Saputo Poem
Oh sweet Trillium Grandiflorum
Spring's most majestic ephemeral blooms
I wait all Winter for the joy you bring
Anticipating the moment I see you in Spring
Emerging from last Autumn's fallen leaves
You spread out under the woodland trees
In my woods you bloom a sea of white
To my eyes you are such a delight
Standing tall with stately grace
Your blossoms put a smile on my face
By your snowy white petals you are crowned
Your beauty by all should be renowned
But alas your loveliness will soon go away
I will have to wait to see you another day
My heart will keep the memory until next Spring
Again I will anticipate the joy you bring

Christine Saputo Poem
Two weeks of summer camping we spent
Helping mom and dad pitch the tent
Sweet memories of campfires and s'mores
Enjoying time in the great outdoors
Walking the trails on nature hikes
Around the campground riding our bikes
Sing alongs around the campfire
Hot cocoa and a kiss before we retire
Giggling 'cause we couldn't sleep
Telling each other secrets to keep
Rising to the smell of pancakes on the griddle
Searching for the right stick to whittle
Hunting the woods for little treasures
Pinecones, leaves and a couple of bird feathers
Go to the beach water splashing
Smiles for the camera we were flashing
Packing the car time to head home
Didn't want to leave we all groan
But we have memories of campfires and s'mores
Enjoying time in the great outdoors

Some of my fondest memories as a child were the two weeks we spent camping every summer! :)

Christine Saputo Poem
I see you through rose colored glasses
And that's why I give you so many passes
I don't see any of your imperfections or flaws
The person I see puts me in such awe
I see you as absolute pure perfection
And I know it's just my heart's perception
But sometimes the heart sees what the eyes can't see
It sees all the right and let's all the wrong be
I see all the things you have conquered and overcame
All the reasons you are the person you became
I see the person you can be; the one I know you are
To me you are an illuminating bright shiny star
To me you are as bright as the sun
When I 'm around you I don't see anyone
So these rose colored glasses I must wear
Because If didn't there'd be too much glare

Christine Saputo Poem
The bike was loaded and packed
The duffle bag strapped to the rack
The air was crisp when we started out at dawn
In the early morning hours we were gone
Down the road with the wind on our faces
Off to visit some far off places
Headed south down the Mother Road
The bike trailer behind us we towed
We past the St Louis Arch gateway to the west
What a magnificent site I can atest
Stopped to see the Meramec Caverns
The Wine Table formation would look great in an old tavern
Through Cuba Missouri we rode the bike at a crawl
Taking pictures of the murals on the building walls
We rode through Kansas the shortest part of Route 66
On the Rainbow Curve Bridge we took more pics
We traveled on to see the Big Blue Whale in Catoosa OK
In Tulsa we camped out at the KOA
Took a break from the open road freedom
The next day in Clinton we visited the Route 66 Museum
On to Texas we then rode
Checking out the sites it had to behold
South of Amarillo saw the Cadillac Ranch
Got off the bike to walk off a cramp
In Adrian ate at the Midpoint Cafe
We had rode Old Route 66 halfway
On America's Highway we motored through New Mexico
In the distance we eyed Mount Tucumcari's plateau
Visited Petroglyph National Monument outside of Albuquerque
The sun setting on the petroglyphs looked spectacularly
Then we drove past the Continental Divide
Observed red rock mountains along side
In Arizona we finally arrived
By the scenery we were hypnotized
In Winslow stood on the corner like the Eagles song
The memory of that will be lifelong
Visited the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert
By this time we were sunburned and weathered
In Flagstaff we stopped to camp and rest
We spied an eagle tending it's nest
To Sedona rode the Oak Creek Scenic Drive
The views and landscape made me feel alive
Alas our trip was over we had to go home
But on this trip there were so many memories sown

Christine Saputo Poem
Dear Menopause,
Thank you for the irregular menstrual flow
When it will show up;I don't know
The wearing of panty liners everyday
Because I don't know when Aunt Flo is on her way
For these unexpected burning hot flashes
If I was paper I would be in ashes
For the intolerable night drenching perspiration
Causing all the restless sleep and agitation
For the bloating feeling I get in my tummy
Making me feel absolutely miserable and crummy
For the extra weight I have on my hips
Cause I had to eat that whole bag of chips
For the stinging statements coming from my tongue
All the harsh words that I may have flung
For all the intense magnified moodiness
The excessive uncontrollable broodiness
The overwhelming exaggerated irritability
Along with the outright intense hostility
The blurting out of what's on my mind
Even though it may seem a bit unkind
For all the hair I see in my bathtub drain
The thinning of my dense, thick, beautiful mane
For the mental and physical lethargy
The total fatigue and lack of energy
For the dry,itchy,crawling skin
And this one lone hair upon my chin
For the need of a daily snooze
This lack of energy gives me the blues
For the memory lapses and difficulty concentrating
This forgetfulness is becoming frustrating
The constant urgent need to urinate
Running to the bathroom before it's too late
Menopause you cause all these negative things
But still there is some positive you bring
For helping me voice my unheard point of view
Something that I would hardly ever do
What others think I could now care less
Others I no longer need to impress
For reminding me as a woman I am strong
Reassurance I have needed for so very long
For the lesson that I am actually tough
That as a female I am more than enough

Christine Saputo Poem
Gotta step out of your comfort zone
You'll never know if you don't try
Take a step into the great unknown
Can't let an opportunity pass you by
You'll never know if you don't try
Start to think outside the box
Can't let an opportunity pass you by
Do something you find unorthodox
Start to think outside the box
Push the limits all the way
Do something you find unorthodox
To try but fail is okay
Push the limits all the way
Take a step into the great unknown
To try but fail is okay
Gotta step out of your comfort zone

Christine Saputo Poem
Dear Narcissist,
You draw me into your illusion
Your tender kiss causes such confusion
I feel your pain and want to lift you up
I let you drink from my soul's precious cup
Depleting my cup of my life water;you keep drinking
Your self-esteem is expanding;while mine is shrinking
Your emotions I absorb as mine
Where do mine begin;I've blurred the line
I plant the seed of your disrespect
Give you all you need;what should I expect
I have a need to heal and you for acceptance
Thus leads to our unhealthy dependence
This is how our relationship will be
Until I from you I find a way to break free
Loving,
Empath

Christine Saputo Poem
Remember going to grandpa and grandma's house by the lake
All the fond memories there we did make
And I think the fondest by far
Was catching fireflies in a jar
We would chase their light in the tall grass
Trying to catch them in our jars of glass
Seeing who could capture the most
The winner got rights to brag and boast
We were awed by their illuminating light
To watch them gave us pure delight
In our jars we gazed at the fireflies glow
Until mom said okay sweeties time to let them go
At grandpa and grandma's we spent many summer nights and days
And one fond memory always sets my heart ablaze
All those fireflies glowing like little stars
And us chasing and catching them in glass jar
